This park on the banks of the Mooloolah River, protects one of the few remaining coastal rainforest areas in this region. Also known as Jowarra, this is an important home for wildlife, including the wompoo fruit-dove, eastern yellow robin and the vulnerable Richmond birdwing butterfly. The river is home to platypus, which may be seen at dawn and dusk. Two short, easy walks lead from the rest area: the Mooloolah River circuit and the Melaleuca walk. The tracks are not sealed but in dry weather they are wheelchair accessible. Use insect repellent to deter mosquitoes and leeches.

The original Landsborough Shire Council Chambers were designed in 1924 by renowned architect Walter Carey Voller and built from local timbers by A.E. Round in 1988 using funding from the Bicentenary. The old building was revamped and a new building of mud brick construction was added. The complex was re-opened on Australia Day 1988, by J.L. Beausang last chairman of Landsborough Shire and first mayor of Caloundra City as the Landsborough Museum. At its meeting on 25 June 1999, the Heritage Council resolved to enter the 'former Landsborough Shire Council Chambers' in the Queensland Heritage Register. Its mission is to collect, research, conserve, interpret and exhibit the artefacts, memorabilia, documents, photographs and stories of indigenous and non-indigenous peoples whose heritage can be linked to that region, known in the year 2000, as Caloundra City.

Named by Cook during his epic voyage along Australia's east coast, the Glass Houses are rhyolitic volcanic plugs left by volcanic activity millions of years ago. This area has special significance for the Gubbi Gubbi Aboriginal people. Remnants of the open eucalypt woodland and mountain heath vegetation, which once covered the coastal plains, provide a home for an interesting variety of wildlife including 26 rare and threatened plants. The first 300 metres of this walk is along a well graded track to three lookouts overlooking Mts Tunbubulla (The Twins), Tibberoowuccum, Coonowrin and Beerwah. Past the third lookout, your climb to the summit is along steep rock face.

Big Kart Track is the largest commercial go kart track In Australia. They have 50 karts going on their 1.2 kilometre long international standard race track at 60 kilometres per hour. Named by Cook during his epic voyage along Australia's east coast, the Glass House Mountains are rhyolitic volcanic plugs left by volcanic activity millions of years ago. The summit trail is relatively short but steep in places and may be unstable in some sections. 2.4 kilometres return - allow two to three hours. Warning: this track can become very slippery when wet.

In the Glass House Mountains, remnants of the open eucalypt woodland and mountain heath vegetation, which once covered the coastal plains, provide a home for an interesting variety of wildlife including 26 rare and threatened plants. This walk takes you through open eucalypt forest past the picnic area and up some steps to a lookout. As you continue up a very steep cliff, you walk through a pocket of closed forest with tall turpentine trees believed to be about 200 years old. On the way, you will see columnar trachyte, a volcanic rock.

Hatha Yoga Class with Woody Wednesdays

Bring your own yoga mat and join in a Hatha Yoga session with some strengthening exercises and plenty of room for relaxation. All welcome. This weekly yoga session is held in the Community Room (below the main car park). A AUD10 donation is recommended. Woody (Paul Wood) is Yoga instructor trained in India in the Guru Kulu system. His emphasis is to bring flexibility to body, spirit and mind. Woody enjoys light hearted but focused classes that lead participants into a meditative space. He has been practicing Yoga and Martial Arts for over 10 years. Established 1974, Chenrezig Institute is a centre for Buddhist study, meditation, retreat and practice nestled in the foothills of the Sunshine Coast Hinterland. The Institute is home to a Tibetan Geshe (Lama), a large community of ordained Sangha (monks and nuns), students, residents, volunteers, retreat goers and guests. Apart from the formal study programmes, Chenrezig Institute is a peaceful, calm and relaxing place to spend a few hours, days or weeks. Stroll along the bush paths, wander in formal garden, espresso in the cafe or a vegetarian meal....

Apart from the formal study programmes, Chenrezig Institute is a peaceful, calm and relaxing place to spend a few hours, days or weeks. Stroll along the bush paths, wander in the formal garden, sip espresso in the cafe, have a vegetarian meal, drop in for a meditation class or teaching, or just sit and listen to life....

Taste of Tibetan Buddhism Fridays

Join them on a Friday afternoon for a relaxed exploration of the world of Tibetan Buddhism. They watch a short video from the Discovering Buddhism programme, then there's a chance to discuss the topic and ask questions. The session ends with a guided meditation. A new topic will be explored each week in a six to eight week cycle, but you are also welcome to attend on a casual basis; no prior knowledge is required. Topics include mind and its potential, how to meditate, establishing a daily practice, karma and transforming problems. Classes are open to everyone, regardless of religious affiliation or current knowledge of Buddhism. Your donations help them to keep this program running.
