Brisbane Sunset Abseil

37172 - Brisbane QLD 4001

Kangaroo Point Cliffs Park in the heart of Brisbane offers a unique chance to enjoy abseiling in an urban environment, easily accessed by both beginners and those with abseiling experience. After a safety introduction from a qualified guide, you'll begin abseiling (aka rappelling) on the main cliffs. Watch as the sun sets on the Brisbane skyline and the city lights turn on for the night. Equipment is provided during this 2-hour activity.

Abseiling can be both a physical and mental challenge, but your qualified guide is there to help you relax and become confident prior to your descent. This is done by familiarizing yourself with the equipment and techniques needed to safely abseil onto flat ground.

Your experience starts by meeting your guide at the top of the Kangaroo Point Cliffs in Brisbane. Go through a safety briefing and demonstration, and then begin the challenge of a 65-foot (20-meter) abseil from the top of the cliffs. Your guide will hook you onto a safety line before connecting you to the abseil line; during your descent, your guide is in control of your safety line.

Once you're on the ground, go back up to the top for another round. You may take as many abseils as you like in the allotted time. Guide-to-participant ratios are kept small to ensure you get the most out of your experience.

Within Daintree National Park, tour Mossman Gorge with an Aboriginal guide who shares local indigenous culture with your small group limited to 15 people. In the afternoon, join a sailing cruise aboard a luxury catamaran with numbers limited to 33 adults, stopping at the Low Isles for a snorkeling or glass-bottom boat tour and time on the beach. After hotel pickup, travel by air-conditioned vehicle for 20 minutes to reach Mossman Gorge, situated within Daintree National Park. When you arrive at the UNESCO World Heritage site, receive a traditional welcome ceremony by your Kuku Yalanji hosts, then join an Aboriginal guide for a leisurely rainforest walk.

In your small group, listen to commentary on local Dreamtime stories that reveal the close relationship between the local indigenous people and the natural environment. Stroll along private walking trails to see traditional structures and learn which forest plants provide shelter, food and medicine. You may encounter plants used for soap and ochre paint, and wildlife such as the Boyd's forest dragon and Ulysses butterfly.

Wrap up your Dreamtime walk with a snack of homemade damper (bread cooked over a campfire) and bush tea. Then return to Port Douglas for your afternoon cruise to the Low Isles.

Step aboard a luxury catamaran with one of the only cruise operators permitted to stop at the coral cays of the Low Isles. Sit outdoors or indoors and nibble canapes with a glass or beer or wine as your boat sets sail. Numbers are limited to 33 adults, ensuring a more intimate cruise.

When you reach the Low Isles, enjoy several hours to do as much or as little as you like. You can learn about the Great Barrier Reef’s underwater world on a guided snorkeling tour led by a marine biologist or on a glass-bottom boat tour with expert commentary. Snorkeling from the beach is an easy option for new snorkelers who want to get comfortable with the equipment. Or, you can simply relax on the boat or white-sand beach.

Afternoon tea is served on the catamaran. As your boat returns to Port Douglas, catch a gorgeous sunset over the Coral Sea, depending on the season. Your tour ends in the evening with transport back to your hotel. Alternatively, you could have dinner in Port Douglas after disembarking, then make your own way to your hotel.

Cape Tribulation Jungle Surfing Canopy Tour

36923 - Cape Tribulation QLD 4873

The tour takes you into the beating heart of the Daintree Rainforest on a guided zipline experience through five tree platforms and the world's first Human Hamster Wheel cable lift. The platforms range in height from 7-16m above the ground and showcase every level of the rainforest canopy.  The ziplines are travelled in pairs except for one solo flight across a rainforest creek - upside down if you dare!  The final span is a side-by-side racing zipline with speeds of around 45km/h! The expert guides accompany you every step of the way so there's no experience necessary.  And throughout the tour, the guides tell the story of the world's oldest rainforest.

Highlights
• Spectacular views over the treetop and out to the reef
• The world’s first Human Hamster Wheel
• New side-by-side racing zipline
• Stories on every platform
• Incredible photo opportunities

On arrival at the harnessing centre, you’ll meet your team of guides who’ll be taking you ziplining through the jungle. Each guest will be fitted with a full body harness and helmet.

A 350m walk through the forest leads to the Departure Lounge, where you’ll be given a safety briefing before leaving the forest floor to be hoisted up to platform 1 by the Human Hamster Wheel Cable Lift.

On each platform, a guide will greet you, connect you safely to the tree, and tell you fascinating story of the Daintree Rainforest before sending you on your way to the next platform.

From Platform 1 – 4, you will travel in pairs a few metres apart. The guides control your gentle flight, leaving you free to take photographs or just admire the stunning views. Platform 3 is cantilevered off the hillside and gives you some amazing views of the Great Barrier Reef and canopy. Platform 3 to 4, you’ll stop briefly at the highest point of the tour, 20 metres above Mason Creek. If you visit during the green season, this creek will be a raging torrent of white water.

Platform 4 to 5, is the opportunity for thrill seekers to try something different, and if you choose to do so, you can flip yourself upside down and watch the ground beneath you speed past. Don’t forget to give us your best Tarzan cry!

The final span to the ground features side-by-side racing ziplines with speeds over 45km/h! Or there’s an option to take it slowly!

Then you have a short walk back to the harnessing centre where you'll be taken back to the Jungle Adventure Centre to view your photos and then on to your Cape Tribulation accommodation if you’re staying in the local area.
