The Cairns Amateurs Racing Carnival is three days of fun, fashion, glamour, food and entertainment built around two days of horse racing in Cairns.
What began as a small meeting in 1959, designed to bring city and country together, has expanded over the years to become one of Australia's premier spring horse racing carnivals. Operated by the Far North Queensland Amateur Turf Club Inc., their event has become widely, and affectionately, known as "The Cairns Amateurs".

The Hand Heart Pocket River 2 Reef Ride charity event is a mass participation ride. The event raises funds for three local charities with the focus on encouraging more people to become active and involved in their health through cycling. Last year this event attracted around 1,000 cyclists.
There are four ride distances to choose from: 35 kilometres, 60 kilometres, 90 kilometres or 135 kilometres. They'll finish at the Blue Water Quay where breakfast food stalls will be operating - perfect for your friends and family to greet you when you cross the line.

The Windorah International Yabby Races began 1998, and is always on the Wednesday night prior to the iconic Birdsville Races, which is on the first weekend of each September.

In its second year, up to 3000 athletes from Queensland, interstate and overseas are expected to participate in the 7 Cairns Marathon and Community Run Festival.
Scheduled for September 20, 2020, it is the first official run festival of its kind to be held in Cairns and is forecast to generate significant visitor activity to the region. The marathon festival features something for all ages with 2 kilometre, 5 kilometre, 10 kilometre, half (21.1 kilometre) and full (42.2 kilometre) marathon distances.

Boulia's Camel Cup is the longest camel race in Australia, run over 1500 metres and is a prized win amongst competitors on Australia's professional camel races circuit.

The last few years they've had amazing feedback on what a great regatta it has developed into, with over 300 sailors competing in 2020.

The Beach House Hotel Hervey Bay 100 is a long course triathlon consisting of a two kilometre swim, 80 kilometre bike and 18 kilometre run. It takes place along the beautiful foreshore of the protected waters of Hervey Bay and is run by the Hervey Bay Triathlon Club.
They have a great lineup of events across the weekend this year, including their Super Saturday events, which consist of Junior aquathlon and triathlon events. They host the Barge2Beach ocean swimming event on the Saturday of race weekend also.
