The Rainforest Habitat is a wildlife park of the future and world leader in mixed immersion exhibits. Venue
Tjapukai is 15 minutes north of Cairns, next door to Skyrail Rainforest Cableway, off the Captain Cook Highway. Guests can take advantage of Coach Transfers to and from Cairns and the Northern Beaches. A public bus service also stops there from Cairns and its a quick taxi ride from the town centre.

Australian Butterfly Sanctuary is the largest butterfly flight aviary and exhibit in Australia - a quality wildlife park in the heart of Kuranda Village.

Situated next to the Kuranda markets, The Australian Butterfly Sanctuary is home to over 1500 magnificent tropical butterflies that are hand reared on the premises.

All are local rainforest species, including an iconic Kuranda butterfly, the electric blue Ulysses Butterfly, and the majestic fluoro green and yellow Cairns Birdwing.

The aviary, set in the midst of Kuranda rainforest, was opened in 1987 and has been visited by over a million people since. Guided tours through the aviary and laboratory are conducted throughout the day, detailing a butterfly's life cycle and behaviour.

Australian Butterfly Sanctuary is included in several Kuranda tours with other Kuranda attractions, such as the Kuranda Scenic Railway, Skyrail, and other Kuranda zoos such as Rainforestation Nature Park.

Bellingham Maze, originally planted in 1991 and opened to the public in 1993 is one of the most familiar attractions on the Sunshine Coast. This Queensland tourism icon which is set in a lush tropical rainforest environment on Tanawha Tourist Drive #25, Tanawha has a huge 80m x 80m living hedge maze which was recently re-opened to the public after an extensive regeneration program.

In 2013 all of the original 20 year old cypress pine trees in the hedge maze were replaced with over 1000 of Sunshine Coast’s favourite plant, the lilly pilly.  The hedge maze was closed for nearly 2 years and in March 2015 is was re-opened to the public and looks amazing!

Whilst the hedge maze is the main attraction at Bellingham Maze, it is certainly not the only attraction.  Bellingham Maze also has a wooden maze, a tyre maze, a rope maze and some other aMAZEing activities for you to enjoy.  Did you know Bellingham Maze also has an 18 hole mini golf course, which is a par 2 course suitable to all ages?  There’s also a delightful garden café where you can enjoy a coffee, a cold drink or something to eat, without having to go into the maze or play mini golf if you’re only wanting a pleasant cafe experience. Tutt's Challenge outside is the most difficult of all the courses. This outdoor course is an exciting challenge for everyone. Putt amongst the tropical gardens but beware of the giant Croc lying in wait as you play!

Icon of Tropical North Queensland: The original Kuranda Scenic Railway is a spectacular journey comprising unsurpassed views of dense rainforest, steep ravines and picturesque waterfalls within the world heritage listed Barron Gorge National Park.

Constructed between 1882 and 1891 it is considered an engineering feat of tremendous magnitude. Rising from sea level to 328m, this famous railway takes approximately 2 hours to Kuranda, the village in the rainforest, home to unique Australian attractions and markets.

Welcome to the Australian Kayaking Adventures website. We pride ourselves in making our adventures the safest and most fun you can have with a paddle. Located on the beautiful Gold Coast, our adventures are conducted on the pristine waters of the Broadwater, where we regularly see all kinds of Marine life (eg Dolphins, Turtles, Stingrays) and thousands of sub tropical fish.

Our tours are conducted on the beautiful Broadwater on the Gold Coast. The water where we conduct our tours are protected by surrounding islands, with mild sub-tropical temperatures and around 10 to 15 metres visibility. Winter water temperature is approximately 19 degrees and Summer water temperature is approximately 26 degrees. We provide wetsuits during winter for your added comfort.

You will see abundant wildlife from Turtles, Dolphins, Stingrays, and colourful sub-tropical fish to Whales in the migration months of May-Nov.

Beachtrekkers offers you a full day tour, starting with hotel/accomodation pick-ups from 6:50 - 7:30am and drop-offs around 5:30pm. After all pick-ups have been made, we head north to catch the car ferry to North Stradbroke Island, one of the worlds largest sand islands. On the way we make a brief visit to Yatala Pies for a toilet break and a quick breakfast, if necessary, before continuing on to Cleveland - 'The Gateway to Moreton Bay', where we may be able to see some wallabies and wild koalas in their natural habitat, before boarding the ferry.

From Cleveland to North Stradbroke Island is a 45 minute journey across the waters of Moreton Bay, on the spacious modern car-ferry 'Quandamooka'. Morning tea is served on the ferry, which you can enjoy as you stroll around the decks, taking in the panoramic views of Brisbane, Moreton Island and Stradbroke Island, while keeping an eye out for dolphins and dugongs in the calm waters of the bay.

Adventure joins nature at Thunderbird Park on Tamborine Mountain less than an hour from Brisbane and the Gold Coast. Come for the day or stay and play. Hunt for gemstone filled thundereggs formed when dinosaurs roamed the earth. Take the Adventure Parc challenge, its Australia’s highest and longest adventure ropes course; do battle with Laser Skirmish, a fun experience in a jungle setting. Relax in the rainforest, go bushwalking, horse trail riding or swim in the rock pools.
Thunderbird Park is a wildlife and geological oasis. Find treasure in the world's largest thunderegg mine. Thundereggs range from a few grams to over 600 kilograms. Most are filled with agate and other quartz varieties. The mine is open from Wednesday to Sunday from 8.30 to 3.30pm, every day during Queensland Public School Holidays and all public holidays except Christmas Day and Good Friday. The admission price includes a mining permit, a pick, shovel, and a bucket to hold the treasure.

The ropes course offers a range of challenges from relatively easy to very strenuous. Choose your challenge and enjoy hours of high adventure. Hang on to the ropes and take a flying fox ride through towering eucalyptus trees, crawl through tunnels, play action movie jungle games and tumble through the air. Choose from a range of adventure games. The course is open to adults and children (height requirements apply). Jump suits and harnesses are supplied, covered footwear must be worn. Laser Skirmish is a fun outdoor activity for all ages. It’s like paintball but without the paint (or the pain). Zap your mates with a laser beam in this tactical combat game. Kit up in camouflage gear and face paint. Laser Skirmish games are challenging but safe. Join in a public session or book a private party. You can enjoy the ultimate rush as our 1500 cc Seadoo’s reach speeds of over 100km/h, located right on the shores of the idyllic water sports playground that is the Broadwater, the experienced staff at WaterSports can have you on the water and on your way to an experience you\'ll never forget. With its large marina frontage you can enjoy views of the Broadwater and beyond while you try your skills on a jet ski. After your safety briefing, you will be given a life jacket and mount our jet ski for some real fun around the course. Artspace Mackay is a regional art gallery operated by Mackay Regional Council which provides the community and its visitors with access to a wide range of cultural services including:

Logan City Council opened Logan Art Gallery in 1995 as a community based initiative which celebrates Logan and Queensland artists and provides a dynamic program for residents and visitors who enjoy the visual arts.

Exhibitions change approximately every six weeks and the program seeks to explore the diversity of art making in Australia. Priority is given to Logan artists' work.

Exciting wreck diving is to be had at the historic \'Llewellyn\' site, east of Mackay on the Great Barrier Reef. The steamer was last seen departing Cape Capricorn Lighthouse on 17 July 1919 and disappeared during heavy gales as it sailed from Rockhampton to Bowen. The location of the vessel remained a mystery until 1997, when the shipwreck was located 35 kilometres east of Mackay.

Drop Zone, off Airlie Beach on the Great Barrier Reef is a drift dive with attitude! Drop into this dive and let the current do its thing. Soft corals, whip corals, staghorn forests and resident turtles. As with all strong currents, keep your eyes peeled for pelagic activity.

The Gold Coast Seaway offers diving for the beginner to advanced. There are two pipes that protrude from the Southern Seaway wall.

This dive site is divided into 4 main areas: South Wall (including the Sand Bypass Pipe and the Short Pipe) - great marine biodiversity; North Wall - schools of pelagic fish, wobbegong and whaler sharks; South-West Wall - beach entry and home to little critters.
