Beenleigh Artisan Distillery Tour and Tasting Experience

36912 - Brisbane QLD 4001

Established in 1884 and located halfway between Brisbane and the Gold Coast, Beenleigh Artisan Distillery is the oldest registered continuously working distillery in Australia. Over 130 years later, we’re still making rum the traditional, "boutique" way, operating from our original stone building. We are still exclusively sourcing Australia's finest molasses from the country's only remaining family-owned sugar mill, and still pot stilling using some of our original copper equipment. We then age every drop of our golden liquid gracefully in handmade oak brandy vats and bourbon barrels.

Join us for a tour to learn about our history and the colourful people that have made the Beenleigh Artisan Distillery an iconic Queensland attraction. Understand how our master distillers craft quality award winning rums and sit back and enjoy the flavour, textures and aromas as part of the tasting experience where you will sample various products from the premium Beenleigh range.

Your experience starts in our award-winning, state of the art Visitor Centre where you can relax in the venue and read our history wall while waiting for your tour.

You will start your tour learning about some of the characters from Beenleigh's history. Once inside our iconic red heritage listed distillery building, you will learn the process of making rum, before visiting our vat and barrel stores. If you have opted for our tasting experience, you will then sample various products from the premium Beenleigh range, which includes a vodka and various varieties of rum. For the drivers amongst you, this only equates to around 1.3 standard drinks.

Following your tour, you can continue to try more products from our range, or relax in our fully stocked bar. Bottles and merchandise are available for purchase.

Guests under 18 are welcome to join us on a tour free of charge, but must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Our tasting experience is only available to guests 18 years old and over.

For safety reasons, guests must wear closed-in shoes (no sandals, flip flops or thongs).

In Queensland, XXXX means beer, but how did this iconic brew get its name? Find out on a fun and fascinating 90-minute tour of the XXXX brewery. Your guide greets you in the brewery’s visitor center. Enjoy an introduction to the history of beer making, and learn some of the brewery's techniques.

After your introduction, walk throughout the central parts of this historic site. Put on safety gear and check out the machinery that brews, stores and bottles beer.

Most weekdays, you can enter the Packaging Hall to marvel at the state-of-the-art packaging line. Watch thousands of beer bottles whiz past you on a distribution line; most breweries don't allow you to get this close!

Once you have delved into the inner workings of the brewery, get instruction on how to pour the perfect glass of beer in the XXXX Restaurant and Bar. Taste four freshly made brews with a new appreciation for the work that went into making the tasty beverage.

After about an hour and a half your tour wraps up. Feel free to kick back in the bar and enjoy XXXX's legendary beers or visit the gift shop before making your way to your next destination.

Charley's Chocolate Factory Tour, Mission Beach Including Aussie Farm Lunch

37236 - Mission Beach QLD 4852

Enjoy Australia’s only cocoa tree to chocolate bar experience on this 3-hour tour. Charley’s Chocolate is unique in Australia and one of only a few places in the world where you can experience the whole journey of chocolate from “Cocoa Tree to Chocolate Bar”. It is deliberately not a theme park as they focus on its authenticity and showcasing how one of everyone's favorite foods comes into being. Charley’s guides are passionate about what they do and want you to share the fascinating chocolate story. The tour will be fun, very much “hands on” and hugely informative.

Throughout your tour you will take a look at the fascinating 3,800 year history of cocoa, visit the tree nursery and a mature cocoa tree plantation, see the tiny orchid like flowers and ripe cocoa pods.

Next, look at age old fermentation and drying techniques followed by a visual as you see the cocoa pod being opened and a tasting of the cocoa nibs.

You'll also take part in some of the steps of making actual chocolate including a sampling and tasting session. The chocolate is Australian grown and made premium chocolate featuring several Pacific Island region varieties.

Next you'll enjoy an Aussie farm lunch featuring local grass fed beef burgers BBQ’d to perfection and served with caramelized onion and a choice of condiments. (Vegetarian or gluten free option is available but MUST be pre-ordered at time of booking). Soft drinks and spring water are available to purchase on the day.

Please note, while on tour kids must be supervised at all times and no smoking is permitted. All walking is on level or very slightly sloping gravel or grass. Minimal fitness is all that is required.

Charley’s is an all weather tour, at times this may mean slightly muddy conditions underfoot. However, this also means you can visit Charley’s when other tours may not be available.

Australian Country Pub Crawl in a chopper Logo and Images

Australian Country Pub Crawl in a chopper

37021 - Brisbane QLD 4001

Experience the Australian country lifestyle and visit some of the best country pubs in the region stopping for a beer at each pub and lunch at one.You will be picked up from your Brisbane CBD by limousine and transported to the Ipswich helipad, from there you will be flown by helicopter to 4 country pubs for a drink and lunch before returning to the Helipad and from there taken by Limousine back to your Hotel

We Aussies have always had our priorities straight. In country towns across this wide brown land, one of the oldest buildings will almost certainly be the pub. As I said – priorities. In many places the pub will have been preceded only by the railway (thereby enabling us to get to the pub in the first place) and the bank (providing us with funds to buy the next round).

And who doesn’t love a good country watering hole? Once the sacred preserve of the sun-scorched, working-class man, today’s pub must appeal to a much broader range of punters in order to survive. Generally there’ll be good quality tucker (quite posh nosh in the case of the trendy gastro-pub), possibly boutique or craft beers, family events, live entertainment and let’s not forget good old-fashioned hospitality. What’s not to love?

So who wouldn’t pass up the opportunity to join a country pub crawl through the incredibly picturesque Scenic Rim, Ipswich and Lockyer Valley regions west of Brisbane – let alone a country pub crawl by helicopter. Excuse me? Yep, you read that right. A pub crawl by chopper.

The day involves paying a flying visit (literally) to around five country pubs with Ipswich-based Pterodactyl Helicopters. A pint at each pub and a delicious lunch are included, but it should be noted here that this is not an opportunity to get merry at 5,000 feet. Safety is paramount and there’s a limit of one beer per venue. It’s more about the experience.
