In 2004 a new era - the era of N@sh - had dawned, very much a more geographically flexible era. We secured the use, courtesy of Front Row Theatre, of the Hamilton Town Hall for our second play of 2004 - Medea. Several plays were, in fact, already in rehearsal during this unsettled period, the casts and crews of which were beginning to feel distinctly gypsy-like. Nash stormed back to Fortitude Valley after an agreement was made with the Trinity Anglican church
where we performed one our biggest (and oddest?) crowd pleasers of 2004 - a production of the Shakespeare classic A Midsummer Night\'s Dream. It couldn\'t compete, in crowd pleasing stakes, though, with our final production for 2004: Dan James\' "twist of lemon" take on Tarantino film Reservoir Dogs - an absolutely incredible effort from everyone involved.
All of which seems to mean our roving gamble is paying off: 2004 was, in fact, been a truly great year for N@sh - one in which we\'ve gone from place to place, and strength to strength, and back and forth to the pub. We\'ve made new friends, forged new "alliances", and broken new ground in all kinds of ways!

The Jan Murphy Gallery celebrated its 15th year of operation in March 2010. In that period it has taken its place as a leading Brisbane gallery, dedicated to the exhibition and sale of contemporary art of the highest calibre. Situated in the heart of Brisbane's gallery precinct, its three exhibition spaces are heralded by the large gallery windows facing Brunswick Street, themselves local landmarks that delight passing pedestrians and motorists as they showcase the regularly changing exhibitions.
The gallery represents a stylistically varied selection of local and interstate Australian art by established and emerging artists. Gallery director Jan Murphy, a member of the Australian Commercial Galleries Association with formal qualifications in art history, is well placed to offer specialist advice on all aspects of the establishment and maintenance of an interesting and rewarding art collection.
The exhibition program is complemented with substantial stockroom holdings of early and current works by represented artists. In addition, the gallery provides an art consultancy service for both individual and corporate clients. Services include valuations of contemporary and early Australian art, auction and dealer representation for the purchase or resale of works, the negotiation of commissions, and liaison with interior design and architectural professionals.
The gallery is also happy to arrange on-site consultations to assist with the best selection and placement of works, and to advise on framing, restoration and conservation of artworks.
Fortitude Valley (or 'The Valley' as it is known to locals) has a well deserved reputation as Brisbane's home for one-of-a-kind fashion. With the mix of fashion designers, artists and musicians working within the area, it's no wonder that this inner-city suburb is inspiration for beautiful fashion. One street within The Valley that continues to offer an array of unique boutiques is Ann Street. Here you will find arguably Brisbane's best boutique for innovative fashions - Blonde Venus. It is a rather unassuming outlet from the exterior but was the first to deliver the world's cutting-edge designers to an eager local market. The store is Australia's exclusive stockist for a number of international labels and is heavily involved in showcasing the city's young and very talented design aspirants. With the opening of its sister store The Outpost in a sneaky alley nearby, the stores continue to offer something different for locals and visitors alike. Other must-shops on Ann Street include Ultra Suite, with its impressive offering of local and national designers, and Mod Cons, a hot-spot for gifts and quirky homewares, and stockists of jewellery and homewares designer Dinosaur Designs.

These classes have been developed for skill levels from the beginner through to the accomplished embroiderer. The Guild is located in an historic masonic hall, owned by the Guild since 1984. It holds displays and an extensive collection of antique and modern needlework and over 1,000 catalogued books, videos and magazines on all facets of embroidery.
