Fringe Bar is a magnet for Brisbane's chi-chi party set, offering up funky DJ beats and tempting cocktails. In days gone by, the now-hot Fringe Bar was once known as The Dead Rat, and it was - needless to say - not so hot. However a total metamorphosis has seen it emerge as a flashy, revamped destination, combining chic contemporary decor with some of the venue's more striking original fixtures, such as antique granite flooring. During the working week, Fringe is a mecca for nine-to-fivers who want to blow off some office steam over well-priced bar meals and a broad selection of tap beer.
Popular with British backpackers and uni students, this patriotic Pommy pub is divided into Irish, English, Scottish and Welsh corners, each of which is decorated with the relevant cultural trappings. There is a good selection of beers on tap - actually, there are more than a dozen - and there are quite a few varieties of UK bottled beers to boot. Whiskeys are a popular choice, with all the usual offerings available along with a few more obscure ones.

Today, as one of Brisbanes most well known iconic venues the Hamilton Hotel continues to provide its patrons with that same friendly hospitality and prides itself on the highest quality meals and crisp Australian and imported brews.

At the sports bar, patrons can order a beer, use the TAB facilities or watch the sporting action on the television screens. Meanwhile, the restaurant serves traditional pub fare, with a Modern Australian twist. A menu just for kids ensures the younger ones are catered for as well.
Luxe offers diners plenty for the pennies (or, more accurately, notes) that they lay down at the end of the meal. This street-side establishment serves up modern Australian cuisine in a casual environment, perfect for watching the cavalcade of Valley visitors as they venture past the outdoor seats. Those sitting inside are not excluded from the action as the walls are predominantly made of glass; hence the reason why this little eatery is commonly referred to as the 'fishbowl'.

The Norman Hotel is operated by The Independent Pub Group. The main Norman Hotel building dates back to 1889 and is heritage listed. The venue has had many incarnations during the years being a working class pub for many years, a biker pub in the early 80’s and most recently as “Brisbane’s worst vegetarian restaurant!”
The most significant innovation in the hotel’s history has been the restoration of the Norman Hotel after a fire engulf the hotel in June 2009. Norman has been rebuilt bigger and better to keep up its reputation as the “Best Steakhouse in Brisbane” with affordable prices and a relaxing and friendly atmosphere.
We are aware that everyone’s needs are different, therefore we are happy to tailor your function to suit your needs.
There's entertainment every night of the week at the Normanby.
But there's a few special days we like to promote. There's Regular Thursday DrinkS, Pure Fridays, which are 1 per cent pure and 99 per cent naughty, Sensational Saturdays and our Sunday Session, which they're talking about from Parliament House to the out house.
If you want true entertainment, an atmosphere where you can chat all night and express yourself on the dance floor, then head to the Normanby.
The iconic Brisbane hotel will also soon unveil a superbly designed and tastefully decorated restaurant and wine bar aimed at the 30 plus year-old market.
Bovine will be a warm place to meet, greet and eat in Brisbane and where we will make sure you want to come back.
There will be a vast selection of wines to choose from and MSA grade Australian steaks cooked to five-star perfection without the five-star price.
The Normanby prides itself on supporting Australian farmers and buying locally grown produce.
Considered among the best (we think we’re No.1) place to order a steak, we will never compromise quality and that’s why we buy Australian beef from Australian farmers.
That means every time you visit the Normanby to taste one of our legendary steaks, you’re not only being served the best meat and vegetables Australia has to offer, but you’re supporting local farmers as well.
The Normanby’s menu is tailored to meet all your needs. Where else can you get mouth watering 450g steak for under $25? Then if that’s not to your liking, try our gourmet pizzas, fresh salads, vegetarian dishes or the delicious fresh seafood. Whatever you’re craving, we can dish it up!
