This exhibition presents recent works by Merton Chambers concerning environmental destruction and universal hunger. Born in rural Ontario, Canada in 1929, Merton studied at the Ontario College of Art and was awarded a traveling scholarship to Europe. He later established a successful pottery studio in Toronto, becoming a significant figure in the arts and crafts movement of the 1960s and 70s. He moved to Australia in the 1980s becoming the founding director of the Noosa Regional Gallery. Merton has continued to paint and draw throughout his long career and his work is held in public and private collections around the world. Bookings Essential! Is your yellow the same as mine? How do pixels and paint differ? Have you ever wanted to see UV light like an insect? Engage with more than 25 interactive experiences, ranging from coloured bubbles to iridescent insects to colour illusions. Explore how light influences colour, and compare your perception of colour with your family and friends. ‘See like a bee’ with the ultraviolet camera; take a high-resolution image of your eye; and see glowing quantum nanomaterials that change their colour with crystal size.
