Something Wild is a Non Government Funded Private wildlife sanctuary and is the worlds largest Tasmanian Devil Sanctuary encompassing approx. 1200 acres. The main visitor site covers an area of 30 acres allowing plenty of space for these animals to feed and interact as they would in the wild. There are pathways around the sanctuary to allow for full access for wheelchairs, to all the facilities. A golf car is available for groups.
We take great pride in the fact that we have moved away from the traditional \'wildlife park\' where most visitors have been used to seeing our native wildlife over previous years. Our feedback indicates our visitors like to see large habitats designed to suit an animals specific needs. In years gone by, wildlife parks and zoo\'s have not been the most comfortable and humane places for animals to live.
Vist the cadbury Chocolate Factory, a comprehensive talk by our qualified presenters on how chocolate is made and the history of Cadbury and a short film showing the production in the factory.
Check out the Cadbury souvenir shop, the Cadbury chocolate shop and the Cadbury cafe plus there\'s a chocolate gift for each visitor.
Museum of Old and New Art - MONA opened in Hobart in January 2011. It houses a collection that ranges from ancient Egyptian mummies to some of the world's most infamous and thought-provoking contemporary art. The building's subterranean design and the owner's unconventional and challenging curatorial approach make it a must-see for any visitor to Australia. MONA takes a different approach to interpretation: there are no labels or wall texts. Instead, visitors are given a touch-screen device, which is sensitive to their location in the museum - showing them works in their proximity. Called the 'O', it allows visitors to select the level of information they need and to vote for works they 'hate' or 'love'. Itinerary options include a MONA fast catamaran service from the Hobart waterfront or MONA-ROMA mini-bus transport; day and night packages with indulgence, wine and food experiences available. MONA is on the River Derwent, just 15 minutes' drive north of Hobart, Tasmania. Open six days a week, 10am - 6pm. Closed Tuesdays.
Bonorong is a Sanctuary for wildlife run by a passionate team of like-minded people. We're a social enterprise: a little business with a big heart.
Just 30 minutes north of Hobart's CBD, we are home to many animals, including wombats, koalas, Tasmanian devils, birds, quolls and more. We also have free-roaming kangaroos who are always keen for a good scratch on the chest and some gentle hand feeding (roo food included with entry).
A visit to Bonorong is not complete without joining one of our daily guided tours. These tours are free with entry and give you the opportunity to meet some of our most popular locals: the wombats, devils and koalas. You will hear little-known facts and stories of the wildlife in our care.
Tour groups, school groups and after-school groups can all be catered for with private tours and more. We have a Food Hut onsite, making it a great stop for lunch with 100% plant-based meals.
Bonorong is easily accessible by car, with free parking onsite.

Moorilla Refined wines are produced at Mona on the banks of the Derwent River near Hobart. The 3.5 ha site is Tasmania's oldest contemporary vineyard and celebrated 50 years of vintage in 2012. Moorilla has two wine styles: The Muse Series focuses on complexity and employs traditional techniques for a more traditional result. The Praxis Series shows traits typical of new-world winemaking. Visitors can spend time at our cellar door where our expert staff plies you with a tempting array of still and sparkling wines. Or you can make your own flight of wines from our Wine Bar and do a spot of self education over a tasty casual meal. If wine isn't your drink of choice we have a micro-brewery as well. It's called Moo Brew, and these unique beers contain no additives or preservatives and are unpasteurised - so Moo Brew's distinctive flavours are best enjoyed fresh and cold. Cellar Door open Wednesday to Monday 0930 to 1700. $A10 Come and enjoy our one-hour tasting experience. You get for AUD10 back if you buy something.
