Witness the evolution of Military flying when viewing our fantastic collection of Military aircraft.  Our displays showcase training and combat aircraft from the first world war all the way through to aircraft currently in service with the Australian Army.

Oakey is rich in aviation history as the former home of Number 6 Aircraft Depot RAAF, a major aircraft storage, repair and testing facility during World War 2 and then from 1968 becoming the home of Australian Army aviation. Our memorabilia room holds a large collection of small and personal items collected by Aviators from all theatres of war and peacekeeping missions in which Australia has been involved.

Call or Book ahead to secure a guided tour of our museum and hear the tales of amazing ingenuity and cunning displayed by our soldiers.  With covered BBQ areas, and a gift shop, the Australian Army Flying Museum is a worthy destination to factor into your trip or even a trip on its own.
