Victoria Square celebrates the history of the town with the town's war memorial and historic rotunda and incorporates the town's playground. The size and facilities available make the square a convenient stop for parents and a great location for a family barbecue. Victoria Square is at the heart of Kadina. Visit the square on the last Saturday of the Month, 8.30am to 12.30pm, for the monthly Rotary Markets.
Have you or your family ever cuddled a day-old foal, or walked among inquisitive older foals on a thoroughbred horse stud? Would you like to learn about the rearing and education of young horses? Learn about how mares are transported all over Australia to be mated to the top stallions; some which are flown from northern to southern hemisphere and vice versa. Or you can walk through a big aviary with hundreds of birds flying around you. If fancy woodwork with Australia-wide awards interests you, then a visit to Ducatoon Park at Kadina is a must. Bus loads of visitors are always welcome and large groups can be divided into smaller groups to get that personal attention. It is a great way to spend an hour - and don't forget to bring your camera. Visits welcome by appointment only.
The Kadina Skatepark is a popular and well-designed site, with four foot quarters, banks and a pyramid, the skate park caters for a range of skill levels. Popular with visitors to the town and locals, the Kadina Skatepark offers a range of facilities which will keep the keen skateboarder or bike rider amused for hours.
At the Farm Shed Museum interpretive displays bring together the farming stories that have been growing for the last 40 years. Yorke Peninsula is renowned for its innovation in dryland farming machinery and techniques. The stump-jump plough was just the beginning! See it in action on the screen in the landclearing display and don't miss 'Her Side of the Story' about women on farms. The early history of Wallaroo Mines and the Kadina Township is included along with Matta House. Matta House is the original mine manager's residence which built in 1863. The house still has a shingle roof and is furnished to reflect the height of the mining era. A schoolroom refurbished to its 1950s origins is a favourite with school groups. A new display looks at farm children.
The Historic Wallaroo Town Walk covers Wallaroo's main commercial area which contains various buildings, both commercial and public, dating from 1861. Most of the Owen Terrace streetscape was erected between 1864 and 1900 but, of course, there have been many changes in usage of the buildings. Please call into the Copper Coast Visitor Information Centre or the Wallaroo Heritage and Nautical Museum and pick up a map.
The Local History Room, located in the Copper Coast Library Kadina, holds an extensive collection of material relating to the history of the Yorke Peninsula. People interested in genealogy research will find many tools available to assist with their research. Access is available free of charge during normal library hours. You will find a range of resources including: birth, death and marriage registers for the County of Daly, biographical indexes, reference materials, cemetery records and archives relating to the district. Volunteers from the Yorke Peninsula Family History Group are able to assist with history research and enquiries on Tuesdays from 10am to 12pm and Wednesdays from 2pm to 4pm. Whilst entry to the room is free, a fees applies for this assistance.
The Wallaroo Town Drive starts and ends at the Wallaroo Heritage and Nautical Museum at the corner of Jetty Road and Emu Street and is a leisurely drive of about nine kilometres which can be completed in one to two hours. The trail passes many sites of historical interest and gives visitors an impression of the history and development of Wallaroo. Simply follow the distinctive trail signs. Maps of the Town Drive are available from the Wallaroo Heritage and Nautical Museum Museum or the Copper Coast Visitor Information Centre.
Kadina Golf course is a par 72, 5851 metres and has an Australian course rating 69. Ladies golf day is on Tuesdays and the men's golf day is on Wednesday and Saturdays. Kadina Golf Club opened in 1904. In 1979 the old clubhouse was replaced with a large and modern building, which has had extensive renovations since. The course is opened from March to October.
The Wallaroo Jetty is one of the best fishing jetties in the state. Extending out for 869 metres into water that is up to 10 metres deep, the jetty is home to a wide variety of birdlife as well as many marine species. Amongst the types of fish anglers may catch are snapper, squid, flathead, tommy ruff, garfish, snook, salmon and mullet. SCUBA divers will enjoy swimming through the jetties pylons to observe the wide variety of marine life and there are facilities in the town to refill tanks and purchase accessories. A portion of the jetty has also been netted off to provide a swimming area, for use by children under the supervision of adults. An added attraction is the opportunity to see the large grain ships which visit the jetty from time to time, mainly during the summer months after the harvest.
Versatility is what Wallaroo artist, Roy Purcell, is known for - and his choices vary from abstract to portrait and anything that catches his eye as a workable subject. Roy's gallery, The Art Spot, has over one hundred works on display and other paintings can be seen on display at another gallery in Wallaroo - Phil Roe's Gallery and Electrical Museum in Wildman Street, and at the Burra Art Gallery (Main Street, Burra). Roy's gallery is open any day including public holidays. A telephone call may be needed for days other than Friday, Saturday, Sunday and public holidays. Bus trips are welcome and tea and coffee can be provided by prior arrangement.

Wallaroo Scuba Club is for recreational dives and was started by Mark Tozer in March 2010. The club consists of scuba diving enthusiasts who get together in the name of fun and diving. Purely a social crowd, the Wallaroo Scuba Club explore the local waters together and are trying to do their part to keep Wallaroo's reefs and other recreational dive spots preserved for future generations. Dives are generally held each Saturday (subject to weather) and are followed by a barbecue. Visitors are welcome to join in on the dives although should bring their own equipment. The Wallaroo Scuba Club divers are from all walks of life and levels of experience, from beginners to advanced, the only requirements are a sense of adventure, a passion for the water and a healthy respect for the environment.
The Discovering Historic Kadina Town Walk takes in many historical sites including the Kadina Town Hall, Victoria Square Rotunda, churches, hotels and banks. The Kernewek Lowender Art Prize Collection is a collection of art works purchased from 1977 during the Kernewek Lowender- Copper Coast Cornish Festival Art Prize. The collection comprises some early pieces of work from some now well known artists. The collection is based on the judge's selections from each year with the works representing the variety and diversity of the judges. The Collection is on permanent display except when the Cornish Festival is celebrated in May biennially. During this time the submitted Art Work for the current festivals Art Prize is displayed for judging. The official opening is the Art Prize Soiree, which is held on the Monday of the Kernewek Lowender. Housed in the historic Ascot Theatre you you will enjoy the collection and other elements of this community space.
