Warrawong Wildlife Sanctuary was first established in 1969 when dairy land was revegetated with native trees and shrubs to attract native animals and birds. Today, Warrawong is home to 100 species of birds and many native mammals, most of which are nocturnal. Platform 1 Heritage Farm Railway at Littlehampton features a train ride, farm animals and railway memorabilia, just 10 minutes from Hahndorf. Travel by train through and past a historic farmyard and out into the open paddocks. Kids will love the one kilometre train ride and adults will enjoy the history of this farm that has been owned by six generations. Meet and feed Captain the horse, Alice and Henry the pigs and Miss Moo the cow and interact with the other farm animals. Play on the railway displays, dress up and be a train driver, signalman or play on the giant trains and tunnels game. Homemade scones with homemade jam and fresh cream are a delight as you relax in the century old barn. People of all ages will enjoy the experience of a different world at the Louise Flierl Mission Museum. You will find a collection of artefacts, historic photographs and text from more than 100 years of history of the Lutheran Church in Papua New Guinea and more recently, South East Asia. You will find the visit both fascinating and informative. The museum is located in the old St Pauls Lutheran Church building. The Museum is open by appointment and a donation is welcomed.

The Perrini Estate Winery is a small boutique winery nestled in the foothills of the southern Mount Lofty Ranges. Feel like a kid in a lolly shop at Humbugs of Hahndorf. Be tempted by a huge range of local and imported sweets including 30 varieties of original Hahndorf Fudge, made locally since 1998. You will find Dutch Licorice, German Chocolate, imported drinks, sugar free sweets, gluten free sweets and a huge range of Pick-n-Mix sweets and chocolates. We are located in the centre of Hahndorf opposite the German Arms Hotel, Humbugs selection of English, European, American and Australian sweets will definitely tempt your sweet tooth. Gulf Brewery is a microbrewery producing hand crafted boutique beers. You can taste beers at the cellar door and either relax and have a beer by the glass or take away to drink at your leisure. The cellar door is located between the IGA and Otto's bakery on the main street of historic Hahndorf in the picturesque Adelaide Hills Gulf Brewery have a wide range of beers available, so they can guarantee there will be a beer to suit your palette from a crisp refreshing lager to smooth dark chocolate stout. They also have one off specialty beers on tap throughout the year. If you are not sure what beers you would like, why not try a tasting paddle of six? Tasting plates of cheeses, local meats and olives are also available to complement the beer selection. Gulf Brewery can also host functions by appointment.

The Meadows Monthly Market is held on the second Sunday of each month and features stalls inside and outside with a wide variety of local produce including vegetables, fruit, jams, honey and eggs, plants, books, crafts and collectables. There are displays and demonstrations, which vary from month to month. Barbecue, Devonshire teas, sandwiches and soup are available at reasonable prices. Proceeds assist maintenance of the Meadows Hall. Admission is free and there is plenty of car parking, as well as a playground and park nearby. The Meadows Four Day Easter Fair is held each year at the Meadows Hall and admission is free. (Please note: if the weather forecast is 40 degrees or more, the market will be cancelled.)

The Prancing Pony Brewery is a boutique craft brewery with a unique point of difference; 'We Fire Brew' Based in Mount Barker in the Adelaide Hills, we create beautifully crafted beers with amazing malt and hop flavours. Visitors to the Brewshed can sample and buy the full range of beers, including Blonde Ale, Amber Ale, Pale Ale and Black Ale. With a licensed Cellar Door, groups of up to 25 can book a tour with the head brewer to learn about beers making, flavours and beer history. For smaller groups a private room is available and children are welcome. Tour bookings are essential. On weekends, we serve light meals including buttered Brezeln, regional tasting platters and with a barista on site, coffee/tea and sweets are on offer for non-beer drinkers. Mount Barker is the ideal course for golfers of all abilities and just 20 minutes drive from Adelaide. Measuring 5,593 metres, the 18 hole course has a par 70 rating, offering a comfortable, easy walk with gentle undulations, lush fairways and excellent greens. Old gum trees line the course, while the strategically placed ponds and creeks provide an interesting challenge. Somerled is the name of the bay gelding that was ridden to victory at the local Oakbank Picnic Races in 1908, by Rob's grandfather Stephen Bowd.

The Adelaide Hills Farmers Market is a market where consumers purchase produce direct from the farmer and products direct from the maker. The aim of the market is to promote, develop and support primary producers in the Adelaide Hills region, assist the development of emerging primary producers and value adders from the region while providing the infrastructure to encourage market traders to sell fresh, high quality seasonal and nutritious products grown or produced in the region.
