The Bucketts Way is the second oldest tourist drive in the state, and for good reason, it is a scenic detour off the Pacific Highway. Tourist Drive 2 (the Bucketts Way) takes you through tall forest, rolling green valleys and pretty towns and villages. This scenic route is popular with motorcycle riders as it provides one of the best road touring experiences in NSW. Motorists will discover the historic town of Stroud, the beautifully located regional town of Gloucester, the hillside village of Krambach and the riverside village of Tinonee. Named after the Bucketts Mountains overlooking Gloucester, it was the former alignment of State Highway 10 (changed in 1931 to the Pacific Highway), between Raymond Terrace and Taree between August 1928 and 1952. The Bucketts Way provides a vital link to Barrington Tops via Gloucester and access to the New England region via Thunderbolts Way.

Manning Valley Historical Society Museum and Archives is located in an historic building once used as a grocery and produce store, circa 1880. The museum overlooks Wingham Town Square (or Central Park) that is surrounded on four sides by heritage or historic buildings. Visitors to the museum are instantly captivated by the step back in time, demonstrating the differing lifestyles pioneers had and their tools/aids. On display are pioneer family portraits, old cedar furniture, lamp collections, scales, bottles, folk craft, clothing, fabrics, ironmongery, crockery, glassware, patent medicines and memorabilia related to our proud sporting achievements. At the rear of the Museum is Wingham's 19th Century police cell which housed Jimmy Governor (Blacksmith) following his capture and prior to his transportation to Sydney for trial and execution. Archive resources are also available. Researchers are in attendance on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 10am to 4pm.

The Manning River is a double delta river system with two openings. The main mouth of the river is at Harrington with the second opening located at Old Bar. It is one of Australia's few large river systems not to be dammed for water supply purposes anywhere along its catchment. The lower part of the river has several channels dividing coastal land into large islands, such as Mitchells and Oxley Islands. The Manning River and its tributaries have long been havens used by visitors, holiday makers, locals, oyster farmers, anglers and transportation during the early pioneering days. Envirofair is a community event that takes place annually in the beautiful river city of Taree, in the Manning Valley and proudly presented by Manning Valley community radio station 2BOB 104.7FM. The aim of Envirofair is to raise awareness about environmental protection, and the local environment from its natural assets to the people who live and work within it. The event is a fun-filled family day of entertainment featuring: music, dancing and performance artists; fabulous food from 2BOB Radio's famous Global Cafe and local epicureans; innovative market stalls; displays and demonstrations of ecologically-friendly products and ideas for living; and inspirational environmental speakers.
