From Wilson Park in North Lawson, approximately 500 metres past the Lawson Swimming Pool is the start of a walking circuit that takes in Dantes Glen, Empire Pass and Frederica Falls... depending on how far you want to walk. Waterfalls, shady rainforest ravines, fern-lined pools and creeks and lush vegetation make it a pleasant walk for all seasons. There are some steep sections and a map or guide book is recommended. Dantes Glen is a warm temperate rainforest dominated by Coachwood and Sassafras trees. A very popular walk for bird watchers.

Ben Roberts Cafe and Gallery is a delightful venue in Lawson. The original cottage was built by Ben Roberts in 1893 and was occupied by tradesmen such as the local boot-maker and coal merchant. It is now fully renovated with a modern cafe decorated with original artworks by well known Blue Mountains artists and seating for 50 inside and out. The attached gallery exhibitions change regularly with various featured artists. A lively new program is planned for 2015. The cafe and gallery are currently closed for a Summer break and for some refurbishment. Look out for some exciting innovations, including evening opening, from the beginning of February.

All of the pools have school holiday fun programs with large inflatable obstacle course at all the centres plus a waterslide operating at certain times at Springwood Aquatic and Fitness Centre.
