From Wilson Park in North Lawson, approximately 500 metres past the Lawson Swimming Pool is the start of a walking circuit that takes in Dantes Glen, Empire Pass and Frederica Falls... depending on how far you want to walk. Waterfalls, shady rainforest ravines, fern-lined pools and creeks and lush vegetation make it a pleasant walk for all seasons. There are some steep sections and a map or guide book is recommended. Dantes Glen is a warm temperate rainforest dominated by Coachwood and Sassafras trees. A very popular walk for bird watchers.

Within its many rooms, Rick Rutherford's Country Gallery is a world of country looks spanning the many traditions and interpretations of what country is all about. Each room has its own individual theme, creating a feeling of stepping into another time and place. Nessie's Daffodil Tearoom and - most recently - Badgery Heritage Gallery - are also part of this unique Blue Mountains experience, offering both old-fashioned tearoom and delicious luncheon fare, all adding up to making RRC one of the middle mountain's principal drawcards and visitor attractions.

It is now fully renovated with a modern cafe decorated with original artworks by well known Blue Mountains artists and seating for 50 inside and out. The attached gallery exhibitions change regularly with various featured artists. A lively new program is planned for 2015. The cafe and gallery are currently closed for a Summer break and for some refurbishment. Look out for some exciting innovations, including evening opening, from the beginning of February.

As the founding author of "Australian Country Collections" magazine, Rick purchased and restored a graceful Blue Mountains Lawson property years ago, creating a unique country gallery in the process, which is open to the public to inspect firsthand. Within its many rooms, Rick Rutherford's Country Gallery is a world of country looks spanning the many traditions and interpretations of what country is all about. Each room has its own individual theme, creating a feeling of stepping into another time and place.
