Marthaville Arts and Cultural Centre

Marthaville Arts and Cultural Centre plays host to a wide variety of events, exhibits and activities including Wine Country Bear Club and Floral Art workshops. Marthaville Guildry has operated since 1996, displaying for sale a wide range of arts and crafts made by residents of the Cessnock area. The building is available for community groups and personnel. Marthaville is the oldest timber sawn home in Cessnock and still retains many of its original piers, which have been treated to resist the ever present danger of white ants and borers. Under the galvanised iron roof, timber shingles can still be seen especially under the edge of the eaves near the ramp access point. Three of the rooms have retained their original fireplaces and cedar mantelpieces.

The Hunter Valley town of Lovedale is a community of boutique wineries, quality guesthouses and homestay accommodation, fine restaurants, unique galleries, and recreational activities such as golf, hot air ballooning, horse riding and wine tours. The history of Lovedale as a major wine-producing area dates back to the early 1800s when local wheat and general produce farmers turned to grape growing. The name Lovedale combines the name of one of these early families, the Loves, with memories of the hills and dales of Yorkshire. Lovedale hosts a number of events throughout the year including the famous Lovedale Long Lunch in May. The surrounding wineries also host concerts, festivals and classes....

Richmond Vale Railway Museum

The Richmond Vale Railway Museum is a volunteer non-profit organisation, formed in 1979 with the aim of preserving the Railway and Mining Heritage of J and A Brown and the Hunter Valley. The museum is located in the old Richmond Main Colliery site, four kilometres south of Kurri Kurri in the Hunter Valley, New South Wales. The museum runs trains on the first three Sundays of each month and each Sunday during school holidays. Other attractions include a mining museum, mining and rail exhibits outdoors, shady picnic areas, canteen, and souvenir shop. The museum also offers mid week tours and special night time events. Steam is the main power but can be substituted without notice with diesels (due to total fire ban days or operational issues). ...

Marthaville Arts and Cultural Centre

Marthaville Arts and Cultural Centre plays host to a wide variety of events, exhibits and activities including Wine Country Bear Club and Floral Art workshops. Marthaville Guildry has operated since 1996, displaying for sale a wide range of arts and crafts made by residents of the Cessnock area. The building is available for community groups and personnel. Marthaville is the oldest timber sawn home in Cessnock and still retains many of its original piers, which have been treated to resist the ever present danger of white ants and borers. Under the galvanised iron roof, timber shingles can still be seen especially under the edge of the eaves near the ramp access point.
