Banyule City Council run numerous projects and programs to encourage cultural expression and experiences including festivals and events, community cultural development projects, artists seminars, exhibitions, grants programs and artists networks. Council is also responsible for the management of the Banyule Art Collection.

The ELCG is located within the foyer of the Eltham Library. The walls are mud brick. A hanging and lighting system is part of the ELCG and hanging rods and plinths are available for exhibitors.

The ELCG aims to provide the general public the opportunity to view and engage with work by local artists in all stages of artistic career. It provides artists with the opportunity of a gallery exhibition and through mentorship and guidance it fosters professional development for emerging and amateur artists. The ELCG program also recognises and values the experience of mid career artists who choose to exhibit in this venue.

Built in 1899, Bundoora Homestead is a magnificent Queen Anne style Federation mansion operating as a historic house, art gallery and cafe, registered by Heritage Victoria and certified by the National Trust.

Bundoora Homestead Art Centre is the public art gallery of the City of Darebin, it hosts a changing programme of contemporary art and craft exhibitions, public lectures and is home to the biennial Darebin Art Show.

The licensed cafe, set in the elegant drawing room of Bundoora Homestead, offers a seasonal menu of light lunches and afternoon teas, while the Gallery stocks a selected range of Bundoora Homestead and exhibition merchandise.

Manningham Gallery is the City of Manningham's major contemporary art venue. Its main focus is the contemporary exhibition program which encompasses a broad range of visual arts practices including painting, sculpture, ceramics, printmaking, drawing, photography, installation and multi-media artworks.

The Gallery is located at the front of the Council Offices in Doncaster (12km or 20 minutes from Melbourne City via the Eastern Freeway). There is ample car parking for Gallery visitors and building signage marks the location of the Gallery. The Gallery entrance is prominent upon entering the building and there is wheelchair access.

Manningham Gallery was established as a public gallery in 1985 in the municipal offices by the Doncaster and Templestowe Arts Association, with strong support from the City of Doncaster and Templestowe. Management of the Gallery was handed over to Manningham City Council in 1997, and in 2001 was relocated to a purpose-built space in the new Function Centre at the Manningham City Council Offices.

Phoenix Theatre Company Inc. is a non-professional musical theatre company based in the Eastern Suburbs of Melbourne. We perform two or three shows a year - in May, September and November. Rehearsals are held in Leeds Street, Doncaster East.

Nioka Bush Camp is a quiet retreat away from the stresses of city life. Stay overnight in the great outdoors, camping or in bunkhouse accommodation. Yarra Flats Park features 85 hectares of pastoral and heritage landscapes, natural bushland, wetlands, abundant birdlife and a number of informal picnic areas. The toilet block at Yarra Flats Park is wheelchair accessible. Petty's is one of Melbourne's oldest commercial orchards, and it holds the largest collection of apple varieties on mainland Australia, with more than two hundred varieties of old and rare apples. Open every Friday for organic produce markets and also by appointment. For school or group tours phone 9726 9784 There is a single toilet block which has facilities for the disabled. The car park and Demonstration Orchard are relatively flat providing disabled access, although tracks through the latter are fine gravel and mown grass which can be slippery when wet. The wetland and bird hide are less accessible and people with physical mobility problems will have to be fit to negotiate some areas. While managed by Parks Victoria, 25 hectares of Pettys is privately leased to a commercial operator. Please respect the rights of the orchardists by not entering this area or picking any apples. Nestled beside the Yarra River in Eltham, the scenic surrounds of Sweeneys Flat offers a perfect spot for a family picnic, a special place to escape whilst taking in the views of the lush surrounding bushland. Your own gas barbecues are welcome at Sweeneys Flats since there are no barbecues provided. Toilet facilities are not available. Organised groups of more than 20 people require a permit from the Park Office. Permits for the busiest period (November to February) will be issued from the 1 May. Play a round of golf at one of the best and most picturesque public golf courses in Melbourne. Relax in the many beautiful picnic or playground areas. Take in the spectacular view of the Melbourne skyline from Mount Cooper. The cafe features both an indoor and outdoor seating arrangement and on those cold winter days customers can sit down in front of the fireplace and enjoy the warmth of a cosy fire. Situated at the confluence of the Plenty and Yarra Rivers, this 33 hectare park was an important meeting place for the Wurundjeri people. Birrarrung Park is a significant recreation space within the parks along the Yarra River, incorporating two large ephemeral wetlands. Several wood barbecues (wood is provided), picnic tables and shelters are available in the park. Fires are permitted only in the barbecues provided, and you are welcome to bring your own small gas barbecue. The toilet block at Birrarrung Park is wheelchair accessible. An adventure playground is available for children. There are 2.8 kilometres of flat sealed trails are suitable for skating, cycling and walking.
