The family vineyard was planted 16 years ago and the new cellar door completed in 2013. They have used re-purposed materials from around the vineyard to reduce the amount of new material required for the building. You will see the wooden picking bins cladding the building and wine barrels throughout the tasting room.

A small family run business that lies on the 35th parallel near the village of Murrumbateman. With a passion for producing distinctive wines all from grapes grown in the vineyard using traditional wine making methods. The most important thing for production is the soil, vines and planting. The vineyard blocks are some of the highest in Murrumbateman at an altitude of 620 metres. The name Wimbaliri is derived from the local Ngunnawal dialect meaning "to drink".

The vineyard was planted on the Parker's Long Rail Gully property outside Murrumbateman in 1998 with the grapes situated in an amphitheatre position around a very large irrigation dam and picnic area. The grapes have thrived on the sustenance derived from the decomposing granite soil which is ably supported by very favourable climatic elements.
They are dedicated to producing memorable cool climate varietal wines of exceptional quality.

Formerly part of the historic Jeir Station, Barton Estate covers 220 acres of which the vineyard is 20 acres. Regarded as some of the finest viticultural land in the district, with rich red soils and a north east aspect with a low risk of frost.
