Yangarra Estate Vineyard is nestled below the Mount Lofty Ranges that surround the famous McLaren Vale wine region. Maximus Wines is located in the heart of the McLaren Vale wine region. Wines are crafted to perfectly reflect the terroir of the vineyard and the nurturing provided there. Maximus has a full range of red and white wines to enjoy in a free tasting. Guests are also welcome to stay and take advantage of the wonderful views in a shaded picnic area, use the new barbecue facilities or relax with a cheese platter and a bottle of Maximus Wine. Maximus also offers monthly matched food and wine tastings and Barrel Store Tours.

Australian Boutique Premium Wines is a small boutique vineyard and cellar door representing our own labels and boutique local wines with little exposure. Our speciality is wine education with emphasis on style and structure. There is a wide tasting list including our own aged fortified wines. The wines have all been personally selected by the owner from his many trips around Australia.

The Perrini Estate Winery is a small boutique winery nestled in the foothills of the southern Mount Lofty Ranges. Located in Meadows, South Australia, the winery was established in 1997, with the property boasting a spectacular view of the surrounding regions and offers total serenity. The Perrini Estate Winery is a must stop for all lovers of a big red wine. The newly built cellar door has a fantastic country feel to it and is open for tasting of Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Tony's Blend, Sauvignon Blanc, Rose and Tawny Port. The winery is a family run business that prides itself on quality rather than quantity. Tony and Connie would love to see you here. Your time will be well spent, as you are sure to leave with a good drop.

Hugo Wines is a small family owned winery set in the foothills above McLaren Vale. The vineyard was established by the owner John Hugo's father, Colin, in 1950 and now covers 30 hectares. The charming cellar door with its scenic views is the ideal spot to sample the estate grown wines. From inside the cellar door, you can take advantage of the wonderful surroundings in all seasons with panoramic views and an open fireplace. A collection of artworks by local artists is on display and for sale, along with estate grown handpicked olive oil for tasting and sales.

Surrounded by towering ancient gum trees and tranquil native gardens, Woodstock Estate's quintessential Australian landscape provides a perfect setting to enjoy fine wines, good food and warm hospitality. The Collett family's firm belief in the natural partnership of fine wines and great food led to building the Woodstock Coterie, located only 45 minutes from Adelaide. The contemporary Australian cuisine showcases the best seasonal produce the region has to offer. Whether you choose to graze on a Woodstock regional platter, or spend a lazy afternoon working your way through the a-la-Carte menu, you'll love indulging in Woodstock's fine wine and attentive service. The authentic Australian environment includes a playground, and an onsite wildlife sanctuary that is home to Brush-tailed Bettongs, Long-nosed Potoroos, Swamp Wallabies, Red-necked Wallabies and Red Kangaroos. DogRidge is a grape and wine producer specializing in the juicier varieties and blends that capture McLaren Vale’s elegance, perfume and food-friendly charm.  DogRidge started when David and Jen Wright discovered their first 40 acre vineyard in the ancient soils of McLaren Flat’s Kurragong Formation.  The DogRidge family grew and , in 2005 Fred and Sarah Howard joined in with the sole ambition to make great McLaren Vale wines.  The cellar door was born and shortly after, the art gallery.

The friendly and experienced personalities at the cellar door will ensure you are entertained, educated and guided through a tasting experience around the refectory tables.

Treasures to expect from DogRidge include a James Halliday, 96-point rated Cabernet, a special Wild Tree Extra-Virgin Olive Oil tasting with Jen’s sourdough bread, a botrytis dessert wine , a fortified Viognier, along with a concise collection of delectable produce. 

It’s a delight to taste lovely wines while peacefully negotiating the gallery, which includes mixed-media bid life on canvas, landscapes, portraits and sculptures.

The winery offers a calm, unobtrusive and relaxed atmosphere in a creek-side setting among the gum trees.  The revegetated native corridor invites occasional koalas, echidnas, kangaroos and joeys, blue wrens and a list of native birds too long to mention.  DogRidge is proud of its environmental record, with property management awards focused on sustainability and minimal impact on the environment.  These efforts include the incorporation of biodiversity into the vineyards, the constant management and renovation of areas of native vegetation, recycling of wine barrel oak and green waste, and conservation of precious water resources.  Open seven days a week, head to DogRidge to enjoy the intimate cellar door and gallery, heritage wines and to see the teams commitment to producing distinctive wines that celebrate McLaren Vales beauty.

The Meadows Monthly Market is held on the second Sunday of each month and features stalls inside and outside with a wide variety of local produce including vegetables, fruit, jams, honey and eggs, plants, books, crafts and collectables. There are displays and demonstrations, which vary from month to month. Barbecue, Devonshire teas, sandwiches and soup are available at reasonable prices. Proceeds assist maintenance of the Meadows Hall. Admission is free and there is plenty of car parking, as well as a playground and park nearby. The Meadows Four Day Easter Fair is held each year at the Meadows Hall and admission is free. (Please note: if the weather forecast is 40 degrees or more, the market will be cancelled.)

Thimbella and Paris Creek Pottery, is a collector's paradise, a unique retail shop. We cater for collectors with thimbles, bells, miniatures and accessories for doll houses, miniature tea sets, lace makers, bobbins, buttons and numerous small animals like owls, elephants, dogs and frogs. Well worth a visit located 50 kilometres from Adelaide in the Adelaide Hills between Meadows and Strathalbyn. Most times the shop is open, but please telephone to confirm we are open.

McLaren Vale Orchards is a picturesque farm of 27 acres in McLaren Vale, owned and run by Mark and Lisa McCarthy and family. They grow many varieties of apple, pear, grape, peach, apricot, nectarine, cherry, raspberry, citrus, avocado and mango. They also have a 16 acre farm in Merbein, Victoria where they grow fig, pistachio, quince, pomegranate, walnut, pecan, sultana and sun Muscat. They grow with minimal or no sprays where possible and are looking toward changes necessary for Organic certification. They sell all of their produce at the Willunga, Adelaide Showground and Victor Harbor Farmers Markets and have a farm gate cool room where people can come seven days a week and pick up their produce in season. .

You and your family can enjoy the Parri Estate McLaren Vale Cellar Door surrounded by old vines in the foreground and majestic gums in the background. The all weather pergola is perfect for weddings and functions or a leisurely picnic. The spacious tasting room has a barrel display, wood fire, leather lounge, display cabinets of regional merchandise and large windows to soak up the views. We provide lunches with a selection of in season regional platters and traditional wood oven pizza.

The Gemtree Wetlands Ecotrail is a 10 hectare area in the heart of the Gemtree Vineyards, which is a major haven for native plants, frogs, birds and animals. The Ecotrail comprises a one kilometre walk with 10 information markers along the way. The trail starts at the carpark where you can view an interpretive map. Brochures are provided to help guide your walk around the trail and inform you about various places of interest. Picnic shelters and a public barbecue are provided for your enjoyment. There are information boards to learn from, a bike rack and a few bench seats along the way to stop and relax and take in the views of the McLaren Vale vineyards and the surrounding beauty of the wetlands. The Gemtree Wetlands Ecotrail is a fine example of how degraded farmland can be restored back to its original condition prior to being settled by farmers. Bring the family to enjoy this peaceful wonderland.

Kangarilla Road is a small vineyard and winery where Kevin and Helen O'Brien are dedicated to making premium wines that reflect the regions character. They are one of the few wineries in Australia to produce the Californian red variety Zinfandel, a spicy red similar to Grenache or Shiraz. Their contemporary cellar door has fabulous views of vineyards through to Blewitt Springs.

Bent Creek is recognised as one of the finest estate grown vineyards situated in the lush flood soils of McLaren Flat, South Australia. The fruit is derived from dry grown old vines, which meander along the banks of a very deep creek. These magnificent fruit driven wines are available on site at the Cellar Door, as well as from cafes, restaurants, and good liquor outlets.

Scarpantoni Estate Wines is a family owned and operated winery located in the picturesque township of McLaren Flat. Dom and Paula Scarpantoni established the winery in 1979 with the aid of their two sons, Michael and Filippo. The winery is very much a family business with every step of production, from viticulture to the packaged product done entirely on the premises. Scarpantoni Estates has a large selection of premium quality wines including a sparkling burgundy, rosé, white wines, red wines and sweet wines. Come and taste the award-winning Scarpantoni range of wines at the newly renovated cellar door while enjoying the vista over the vineyards from the front verandah.

Established in 1984 Shottesbrooke Vineyards began with the first planting of vines by the founder and owner Nick Holmes. The vineyard itself was named after an estate in Berkshire, England, where Nick's grandfather was the parish vicar. Nick Holmes has been making wine for over 30 years, working with some of Australia's most successful wineries and then under the Shottesbrooke label since 1984. Today Hamish Maguire is winemaker and continuing the Shottesbrooke winemaking tradition. The passion is to produce the best wine possible from the fruit grown from the estate vineyards in the big, full bodied style famous in McLaren Vale with the Shottesbrooke touch of style and elegance The team at Shottesbrooke welcomes you to taste their premium wines whilst enjoying the magnificent views and serenity that the cellar door and the grounds have to offer. The 'Picker's Hut' is also a favorite spot, the perfect place to gather with family and friends and enjoy Shottesbrooke wines amongst the vineyards.

Sonya's Textile Gallery and Studio is a working hand weaving Studio and Gallery in a beautiful rural setting on the Fleurieu Peninsula just 45 minutes from the central business district, probably the smallest working weaving mill in South Australia. Sonya is creating exclusive and exciting fabrics, scarves, shawls and throws in fine Chinese silk and Australian Merino wool. They are hand dyed in a rainbow of colours in unique patterns in techniques she has developed. Visitors can view items being woven on custom built looms.

Just over the hill from McLaren Vale, on a beautiful road winding past Kuitpo Forest, lies Top Note, a premium cool climate Adelaide Hills vineyard.

Top Note Vineyard is a world apart from the vale, sitting at 330 metre elevation. Altitude and exposure to cool south-easterlies blowing up off the Southern Ocean keep us up to 10 degrees cooler than our neighbours in the vale, allowing us to grow cool climate varieties like Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and our rare Red Semillon as well as producing elegant Shiraz and beautifully structured Cabernet Sauvignon.

Owners Cate and Nick Foskett hand select the very best of each crop to make into small batches of exclusive, hand crafted wines under the Top Note label. The first Top Note release is a dessert wine made from the very rare Red Semillon - a pink berried relative of Semillon Madeira. The citrus notes of lemon and grapefruit on the nose are followed up on the palate with hints of granny smith apples.

Top Note will shortly be releasing a Pinot Noir and Shiraz from the 2014 vintage is currently maturing in new French Oak.

In 1987, Geoff Hardy - a fifth generation descendant of South Australian wine pioneer Thomas Hardy - finally found his ideal site for the production of outstanding cool climate grapes in the Adelaide Hills.

The vineyard became known as the K1 Vineyard as this unique, groundbreaking site was the first commercial planting of vines in the Kuitpo (pronounced 'ky-po') region.

Today, the K1 by Geoff Hardy wines are considered to be amongst some of Australia's finest ultra-premium, single estate wines. Geoff and his family continue their work to keep it that way and to make sure that the K1 cellar door maintains its reputation as one of Australia's leading cellar door experiences.

Graham Stevens Wines is a family-owned winery in McLaren Vale, operated by Graham Stevens and his daughter Carolyn. With many years experience in the wine industry, both Graham and Carolyn are committed to producing high-quality wines from the best available fruit. Passionate about the environment, Graham carefully manages the vineyard to minimise water use while maintaining quality.

Graham Stevens Wines range includes their Sauvignon Blanc, a lighter Nouveau-style Grenache, two recently released 2005 Shiraz styles, a Gold Medal winning blend of Shiraz, Grenache and Cabernet Sauvignon called “Graham’s Vat 52” and their Gold Medal winning Cabernet Sauvignon. Cleanskins also available.

Graham Stevens Wines is located on Ingoldby Road in McLaren Flat and the Cellar Door is open 10.30am to 4.30pm. You will meet either Graham or Carolyn and have a unique opportunity to talk to them personally about their wines and the way that they are made.

Gemtree is a family owned winery dedicated to growing better wine, naturally. Our new tasting room can accommodate up to 12 people for private structured tastings at $10pp.  These tastings showcase our premium wine selection, back vintage and limited release wines and offer a more personalised and in depth tasting experience.

Magpie Springs is located half way between Adelaide and Victor Harbor, only five minutes' drive from the historic township of Willunga. Magpie Springs was one of the first vineyards planted in the Southern Mount Lofty Ranges. We grow all of the fruit for our wine which is influenced by the sandy loam soil, the altitude and the cooling afternoon sea breezes. The vineyard produces premium fruits of Chardonnay, Semillon, Shiraz, Pinot Noir, Riesling, Merlot and Sauvignon Blanc. The Gallery is reserved for fine art from visiting artists. Avril Thomas is the artist in residence. Her work is displayed in private and corporate collections nationally and internationally The grounds have naturally beautiful vistas with gums, vines and dams perfect for artistic workshops in a rustic setting. Enjoy wonderful birdlife and tranquil vistas - a place for the whole family. The grounds are also open for functions - weddings, parties, corporate gatherings. Southern Boulder - a bouldering climbing wall suitable for all ages - have a go or use it as a gym. Come and enjoy wine, art and coffee at Magpie Springs.

The Kidman Trail is a multi-use horse riding, cycling and walking trail that traverses 269 kilometres of road sides, forest tracks, private land and unmade road reserves with trail markers indicating route. Trail enthusiasts will enjoy seeing the world in a different way through the Fleurieu Peninsula, Adelaide Hills, Murraylands, Barossa and Clare Valley tourism regions. The trail is proudly named after Sir Sidney Kidman, a prominent local pastoralist and horse breeder. Kidman was a pioneer of his time with unparalleled forethought in business and interminable community spirit. A number of trail heads providing information on horse yarding, campsites and float parking are installed along the route. Take a short walk, use the Kidman Trail as part of a ride loop or plan an overnight stay....
