There is also a dry Zen garden, vegetable garden, large scale rockery rare plant collections and all enhanced by the views of majestic mount Roland. Kaydale Lodge is open daily for morning and afternoon teas and light lunches and also offers warm, comfortable country in-house accommodation with old style farm hospitality. Kaydale Lodge is situated on a two hundred acre farm in Nietta, just inland from Ulverstone.

While you won’t notice the unobtrusive Bell Mountain from afar, its location affords unparalleled 360 degree views. Look across Tasmania’s Central Highlands to the south including Lake Cethana, Cradle Mountain and Barn Bluff, Mount Roland to the east and the Dial Range and Valentines Peak to the west, complemented by a beautiful vista to the north across a tapestry of agricultural farmland dissected by the Forth River Valley and Lake Barrington, to an expansive view of much of the northern Tasmanian coastline. The walk is a steep 45 minutes to the summit and only 20 minutes return. Due to the steepness of the track, the descent can be slippery so bushwalking boots or footwear with good traction is recommended. All three falls are on one 2.5-hour return walk from Lemonthyme Lodge at Moina, on the way to Cradle Mountain. The Bridal Veil Falls cascade 20 metres into Bulls Creek. In full flow they form a rectangular curtain of water and at lower flow form a series of vertical columnar strands draping the underlying rock wall. The walk leaves Lemonthyme Lodge and at first follows a four-wheel-drive track past the manager’s residence, uphill. After about 40 minutes the walk levels out then descends. As the descent begins, there is a spur to Champagne falls. Continue past this to get to Bridal Veil Falls – the track loops around to reconnect to the Champagne falls anyway. Staff at Lemonthyme Lodge ask that you register your walk with them....

O'Neill's Creek Nature Trail is an easy 15 minute walk (approximately 700 metres to O'Neill's Road) and leads to the start of the Mt Roland Regional Reserve walking tracks. Spectacular Mt Roland forms the backdrop to the Mt Roland Regional Reserve east of O'Neill's Creek Picnic Reserve. You will find White Gum eucalypts, Blackwood trees, Browntop Stringybarks, Myrtle trees, Sassafras trees, tree ferns, Dogwood trees and fern glades. . O'Neill's Creek is host to the iridescent dragonfly, frogs, yabbies, freshwater crayfish and platypus. There is logging evidence from a bygone era. You may encounter tree stumps with notches cut out of them for holding boards that were used for axemen or sawyers to stand on whilst felling trees. Bullock teams or draught horses were used to skid out the logs. Next to the creek and rodeo ground, this pretty forest reserve has places for vans for short stays (2 nights maximum), BBQ facilities, and shelter with tables and benches. The neighbouring Gowrie Park Wilderness Village has cabins and powered van sites for longer stays. You can access the trail from the C136 at the O'Neill's Creek Picnic Reserve, 16km (5 minutes’ drive) south-west of Sheffield....
