Fern Gully Winery

F1468 Princes Highway, Termeil NSW 2539

Fern Gully Winery produces small batches of award winning, premium wines: Chardonnay, Rosé, Shiraz, Chambourcin, Noble Dessert Wine and Vintage Fortified Shiraz (port). They only use grapes grown and hand picked from their Termeil vineyard. Vines were planted in 1996, with Tannat planted in 2010. The coastal maritime climate produces long ripening seasons enhancing grape flavour development. They use the best of both traditional and modern winemaking practices, including refrigerated open fermentation vats, basket press and maturation in oak 225 litre barriques. Enjoy the sensory aromas of maturing wine while tasting at the cellar door amongst vats and tanks, inside the working winery. Max the winemaker will happily explain the winemaking process. Tours at AUD30 per person include a bottle of wine. This is a boutique family winery, where wines are lovingly made to capture fruit flavours. Enjoy the taste experience yourself - you will be warmly welcomed.

Florence Head Trail and Lookout

Mount Bushwalker Road, Porters Creek NSW 2538
Update: This trail is currently closed to the public. Please refer to NPWS website for further information. The Florence Head walk starts off with the walk along the Little Forest walking Track but rather than turning around when the Little Forest Track intersects the fire trail you turn to the right and keep on going until you reach the Florence Head lookout at around the 3.1 kilometre mark. The track surface varies from natural track through to metal mesh but there are no difficult areas on the track to negotiate. Having said that the fire trail grass is regularly slashed to maintain a fire break and as a result there are some very deep wheel ruts that you need to look out for so you don’t turn an ankle. The track gradient is fairly flat and towards the lookout there is a small climb before descending back down slightly. Please visit the National Parks and Wildlife Service for further information....
