Peppermint Bay is a waterfront restaurant, bar, providore and venue at Woodbridge, southern Tasmania. The multi-award winning Peppermint Bay complex includes The Dining Room a la carte restaurant. The seasonal menu of Huon Valley produce includes heirloom varieties of fruit and vegetables, organic beef, seafood and farm cheeses. You can arrive at Peppermint Bay in style - aboard the luxury, high-speed catamaran, Peppermint Bay II. Woodbridge Hill Handweaving Studio

The Woodbridge Hill Handweaving Studio is a textile studio in southern Tasmania. With spectacular views of the D'Entrecasteaux Channel as a backdrop, this small intense textile space lets you experience a weaver's work at the loom. You may enjoy the colourful display of hand woven, hand dyed and knitted goods made from natural fibres such as alpaca, wool, cotton, silk, mohair and even dog hair. There are luxurious scarves,shawls, throws, vests, shoulder bags, beanies, berets, cushions, rugs and tapestries. The studio is open most mornings from 0930 to 1300 or by appointment. It is closed on Saturdays. The Handweaving Studio is just up from the famous Peppermint Bay Restaurant- follow the Highway sign. If you follow the road to the top you will find "Woodbridge Hill Hideaway" and a bit further you will come to the Harzview Wine Centre. Woodbridge a coastal town is 40 minutes south of Hobart (43 kilometres/26 miles).

Only an easy 25 minute drive from the centre of Hobart, Parnella Kettering is the perfect base from which to explore both the Channel and Bruny Island. Being so close to Hobart also permits day trips to the city to visit Salamanca and Mona or you may just choose to stay in this region and discover the many wonderful attractions it has to offer. Small dogs are permitted to stay - conditions apply. Parnella Kettering offers two options for our guests. Bloomsbury Cottage is a very comfortable self catered one bed studio cottage in a tranquil setting. Bloomsbury Cottage will provide you with everything you need for a relaxing getaway. There is a large bathroom with shower, and a private deck with barbecue. Tulendena Garden House is a well appointed and comfortable self catered two bedroom apartment with a wood fire for cosy evenings. Tulendena Garden House offers privacy and seclusion. Set in its own garden the Garden House includes a combined lounge and dining room with kitchenette, bathroom with spa bath. We also offer a range of optional housekeeping services, including provisioning and cleaning which are available for a surcharge....

Kettering is a small town in a peaceful, idyllic setting on the D'Entrecasteaux Channel, about 30 minutes' drive or 37 kilometres south of Hobart. The area was first explored by French navigator Bruni D'Entrecasteaux in 1792 and by the early 1800s whalers, sealers and timber cutters had settled in the region. The area around Kettering continued to develop due to its suitability for timber, and berry and fruit farming. The scallop industry was also a boom in the first half of the 1800s. Kettering now has a thriving community involved in many artistic and maritime pursuits. Yachts, fishing boats, salmon farmers in their runabouts, and sea kayaks are all regular sights in the sheltered waterways. There are two major marinas, as well as many smaller, privately owned jetties, and over 600 boats that call Kettering home. It also serves as an important service hub for local farmers and producers. Vineyards and colourful orchards of berries, cherries and apples surround the general area. The Bruny Island Ferry, Mirambeena, is a vehicular ferry which runs a return trip numerous times a day from Kettering to Bruny Island. At the ferry terminal there is a comprehensive visitor centre also housing a gift shop and a waterfront cafe, which specialises in local produce and seafood. Kettering is also home to a distinctive 1930s built hotel, which boasts superb views across to Bruny Island. The hotel houses a restaurant and offers bar meals. A Turkish cafe also serves as the local deli, and don't miss the speciality hand-made chocolates available from the local chocolatier. Great pizzas and coffee can be found at a small cafe opposite the oval. There are a number of accommodation options in the area, including charming self-contained cottages, beautifully appointed bed and breakfast options and luxurious suites overlooking the marina. The hotel also offers rooms upstairs. For a great view out across the D'Entrecasteaux Channel toward Bruny Island, take the short 10 minute walk through she-oak trees to Kettering Point. Hiring kayaks or experiencing a local kayaking tour is another great way to experience the beauty of Kettering. ...
