The Olive Branch Prom Country is as the name suggests, a peaceful and homely place to enjoy a break from the 21st Century. The shop was built at the turn of the 19th Century and has been lovingly restored to retain its’ old- world charm. The shop serves excellent coffee and delicious cakes made locally in Port Albert. You can enjoy these refreshments surrounded by beautiful retro, vintage and antique furniture. Meg has been an avid collector for many years and is happy to think that these treasures will find a new home with people who appreciate them as much as she does. Local honey, jam, preserves and seasonal fruits and vegetables from home gardens and souvenirs of Agnes Falls, are also available to purchase. Visitors can also hire bikes to ride the nearby Great Southern Rail Trail. Families can safely down to Port Welshpool with the newly restored Long Jetty or head back up towards Foster. Mauzie's Most Marvellous Vintage stocks a treasure trove of fine vintage clothing and accessories for sale. Visitors are encouraged to interact with the collection by having fun trying on the clothing without any obligation to buy. This unique to South Gippsland little shop also incorporates a mini-museum featuring items of clothing (with a story to tell) along with a camera collection and other reminders of days gone by. Mauzie loves to discuss the fascinating provenance of many of the items on display. The shop is situated across the road from Sagasser Park which has free barbeque facilities. It has distant views of Wilsons Promontory and is also within close proximity to the Great Southern Rail Trail. There is the award-winning 'The Royal Standard Hotel', several accommodation venues, a couple of great cafes and an antique shop 'Fancy Goods and Old Relics' all within walking distance. Trickle into Toora and mosey on down to Mauzie's Most Marvellous Vintage. Toora is well worth a visit or better still a stay-over. ...
