Boyd Lookout is located on the edge of Morton National Park and Macdonald State Forest with spectacular views of Lake Conjola and beaches to the south. It has a scenic lookout with views to the coast and of Pigeon House Mountain. Enjoy some of the short walks around the area, including the short walk to Granite Falls, with wildflowers such as boronia and flannel flowers blooming in the spring and early summer. Twelve Mile Road is an unsealed gravel road and may deteriorate at times due to weather conditions.

The Candle Shack's beautifully crafted candles are handmade on bushland premises in Basin View, adjacent to the relaxing waters of St Georges Basin and only 15 minutes from stunning Jervis Bay. Candles are made using paraffin wax, essential oils and a variety of shaped and novelty moulds. They are scented or unscented and decorated in either splashed or marbled designs. Classic white is also available and the range also includes a large and unique variety of novelty figurines. The Candle Shack takes special orders around certain scents and/or colours. They conduct demonstrations, and provide morning or afternoon tea, for groups from 12 to 50 people any day of the week (small fee applies) and have parking for coaches. The Sussex Inlet 62nd Annual Family Fishing Carnival is a fishing competition in which all the family can participate, with over AUD25,000 in valuable prizes including cash to be won. The emphasis is on children enjoying the joys of fishing in a family atmosphere. Competitors can fish from the river bank, a boat, inside the basin or out in the ocean or off the rocks. This event is the longest running event of its type in Australia. A presentation night is held on the night after the competition finishes on the Thursday night. Follow management trails through the park’s lovely patchwork of low forest, woodlands and moist heath on the plateau, contrasting with tall spotted gum at the northern end of the park and rainforest in sheltered gullies along the eastern edge. Birdwatchers will enjoy spotting unique and threatened species in the park, such as the noisy gang-gang cockatoos or sooty owls. The park is best-suited to independent, self-reliant bushwalkers, due to its abundance of unmarked but easily traversable trails. It’s also popular with cycling, motorcycling and 4WD enthusiasts, who frequently travel through the park to the adjacent Yerriyong State Forest.
