Mount Carnarvon walking track connects Echo Point picnic area with an isolated hilltop lookout, offering terrific birdwatching and a place to have lunch afterwards. The view from Echo Point picnic area is memorable in its own right, but for something even more secluded, follow a track south from the picnic area as it descends through an interesting cliff line down some stairs. These are carved directly out of the old rock. The track then climbs gently to the isolated hilltop of Mount Carnarvon, with its own unique lookout, offering yet another vantage point over Morton National Park. This is a terrific spot for birdwatching, given the park’s staggering variety of native species: birds of prey circle the lookout during the day, and owls frequent the area at night. It’s also a great place to appreciate the heathland flowers during spring, with black drumsticks, yellow banksia, purple geebungs and prickly hakeas sighted in the area. After taking your fill of the scenic vista, retrace your steps up the sandstone escarpment, then consider breaking for a picnic lunch at Echo Point....

Although not a bushwalk for the faint of heart, Tooth's walking track to Bundanoon Creek offers great rewards for those who are fit and don’t mind a steep climb. The walking track begins at Tooths lookout, with its spectacular scenic views of the valley, and descends steeply towards Bundanoon Creek. As you get closer to the creek, you may see reptiles lying across the track and, during spring, wildflowers blooming nearby. Don’t get too distracted because you need to keep a close eye on where you’re placing your feet. At the base, strip down to your swimmers and plunge into the swimming hole. It’s the perfect way to refresh before you make the climb back to the top. Make sure you leave plenty of time, since the walk needs to be completed during daylight....
