Something Wild is a Non Government Funded Private wildlife sanctuary and is the worlds largest Tasmanian Devil Sanctuary encompassing approx. 1200 acres. The main visitor site covers an area of 30 acres allowing plenty of space for these animals to feed and interact as they would in the wild. There are pathways around the sanctuary to allow for full access for wheelchairs, to all the facilities. A golf car is available for groups.
We take great pride in the fact that we have moved away from the traditional \'wildlife park\' where most visitors have been used to seeing our native wildlife over previous years. Our feedback indicates our visitors like to see large habitats designed to suit an animals specific needs. In years gone by, wildlife parks and zoo\'s have not been the most comfortable and humane places for animals to live.

Museum of Old and New Art - MONA opened in Hobart in January 2011. It houses a collection that ranges from ancient Egyptian mummies to some of the world's most infamous and thought-provoking contemporary art. The building's subterranean design and the owner's unconventional and challenging curatorial approach make it a must-see for any visitor to Australia. MONA takes a different approach to interpretation: there are no labels or wall texts. Instead, visitors are given a touch-screen device, which is sensitive to their location in the museum - showing them works in their proximity. Called the 'O', it allows visitors to select the level of information they need and to vote for works they 'hate' or 'love'. Itinerary options include a MONA fast catamaran service from the Hobart waterfront or MONA-ROMA mini-bus transport; day and night packages with indulgence, wine and food experiences available. MONA is on the River Derwent, just 15 minutes' drive north of Hobart, Tasmania. Open six days a week, 10am - 6pm. Closed Tuesdays.

Built in 1870 for the production of shot, this sandstone tower rises 48 metres above the banks of the Derwent, affording spectacular views up, down and across the river. The tower is 10 metres in diameter at the base and 3.9 metres at the top - the walls a metre thick at the bottom thin out to .45 centimetres at the top. Molten lead was dropped from top to bottom of the hollow tower and its rapid descent and cooling roughly shaped it into pellets. There is a museum at the base of the tower and a tea rooms alongside. There are 259 steps to the top, but 25 landings on which to catch your breath.
