Let's play croquet - the thought sport. A game requiring skill and strategy. Suitable for all - male and female, young and old, low cost involved. Croquet is played on a court which measures 35 yards by 28 yards. The lawns used are normally level and flat but not to the same standard as a bowling green. Six hoops are laid out on the court and each player uses a mallet to strike a ball with the aim of running each hoop in a specified order and direction. Each game is played with either two players (singles) or four players (doubles) and four coloured balls are in play at all times. Competitive or social - there is room for both. Participation in sport can be for a variety of reasons, including - exercise, mental stimulation, companionship, competition. Croquet provides an opportunity to travel for tournaments and meet new friends.

Bomaderry Creek Walking Track

Bomaderry Creek is a small oasis of bushland adjacent to the town of Bomaderry. The walk includes patches of remnant rainforest, spotted gum forest, dry woodland and small hanging swamps. The small gorge is rich in Aboriginal heritage and sheer sandstone faces. The track follows Bomaderry Creek which has carved a course through sandstone forming impressive cliffs, rock walls, overhangs and caves. Visitor facilities include a grassed picnic area with sheltered tables, gas barbecue and toilets. Dogs are permitted in the park, provided they are kept on a leash at all times. There are two tourist walks you can follow: Walk One is a 5.5 kilometre return walk along the eastern and western tracks. It takes about three hours. Walk Two is a 1.4 kilometre return walk along the western track to rock crossing returning to the track head via Mossy Gully. It takes about one hour.

The Nowra Players, a non-profit community organisation, have been bringing live theatre to the Shoalhaven community since 1951. Their monthly meetings are held on the first Monday of the month at the theatre. New members are always welcome. The 141 seat, Players Theatre is located in Meroo Street, Bomaderry. Surrounded by bushland and yet well-equipped and very easy to get to from the Princes Highway, this former quarry is a lovely place to unroll a picnic blanket and relax, and the starting point for a number of easy gorge walks. The whole family will find plenty to do here. Your little ones will love the game of stepping stones and the open space to run around. A rainbow serpent mural and clay footprints tell the story of this place’s importance to the local Aboriginal people. Abundant birdlife flies overhead while you enjoy this special place too. Once you’ve enjoyed a barbecue in the eucalypt trees, stretch your legs along She-Oak crossing walk and explore the Bomaderry Creek Gorge, or head out across the heath on Falcon Crescent link track....
