Welcome to Aranda Aboriginal Art (formally Australian Contemporary Aboriginal Art).

Adam Knight Curator of Aranda Aboriginal Art has been involved with Aboriginal people since childhood and active Aboriginal Art dealer since the early 1990.s. During that time it has been a privilege for our staff to be able to build personal relationships with leading and emerging Aboriginal Artists and to develop at least some understanding of the expression of their culture through their extraordinary artwork.

Our first Gallery was opened in regional Victoria in 1995 by the Treasurer and Deputy Prime Minister of Australia, The Honourable Ralph Willis, and we were proud to have in attendance at that opening such luminaries as (the late) Rover Thomas and Queenie McKenzie. Our friendship with perhaps the most noted artist of his era, Clifford Possum Tjapaltjarri, extended over many years and continues with his children and grandchildren today. ARANDA ABORIGINAL ART represents the finest contemporary pieces with the unique ability to communicate the historical and cultural importance of each indigenous piece.

Founded in 2004, Mossgreen is Australia’s first combined Auction House, Art Gallery and Tearooms. Housed in the iconic, former art deco picture theatre on High Street, Armadale Mossgreen is a unique, luxury destination to buy, sell and enjoy objects of beauty, rarity and value, and to indulge the culinary senses.  

Mossgreen Auctions is Australia’s largest multi-department auction house, offering expertise and regular auctions in Fine Australian & International Art, Australian Indigenous Art, Asian Art, Jewellery, Luxury Accessories, European Decorative Arts, Stamps & Coins, Sporting Memorabilia, Collectors’ Cars, Motorcycles & Automobilia. Mossgreen Gallery proudly supports the careers of a select group of mid-career and senior artists including Criss Canning, Yvonne Audette, Deborah Halpern and Kate Bergin, who Mossgreen has exhibited and promoted since the beginning of her career. Located on the ground floor of the renovated former Armadale picture theatre, Mossgreen Gallery is a state of the art exhibition space which adjoins the elegant Mossgreen Tearooms, offering visitors a relaxed and unique gallery experience.

Fehily Contemporary
Fehily Contemporary, incorporated by Mossgreen, is a contemporary commercial art gallery directed by Lisa Fehily. Lisa is a passionate gallerist who has developed Fehily Contemporary into a driving force in the contemporary art world, supporting artists' careers and the Australian contemporary art sector at large. Fehily Contemporary is located at 935 High Street, directly opposite Mossgreen Gallery. 

Mossgreen Tearooms are managed by renowned catering company Peter Rowland. The tearooms are open seven days a week for breakfast and lunch and also offer one of the finest high tea experiences in Melbourne.

The Metro Gallery is a contemporary art gallery committed to exhibiting collectable Indigenous art, contemporary Australian art and work from promising emerging artists.

Since its inception our modern art gallery has built a reputation on promoting and presenting contemporary Australian art. Both through showcasing the works of artistic luminaries such as John Olsen, Tommy Watson, Kathleen Petyarre, Tim Storrier, Michael Johnson, and Criss Canning, as well as young Australian artists Jasper Knight and Michael Peck.

Located in the hub of Melbourne’s Art and Antique precinct, the contemporary gallery offers two light filled spaces with contemporary works from various periods. The gallery produces major catalogue exhibitions each year featuring emerging and mid career Australian artists along with high quality Indigenous artists from Papunya Tula Artists, Warlayirti Artists, and Watiyawanu Artists. The catalogues are reference publications, supplied to State Librarys throughout Australia and can be purchased online or at the gallery.

Scott Livesey established his first gallery 'Scott Livesey Art Dealer' in 1998 bringing with him fifteen years of experience in the commercial art world. Drawing on his many years of experience in local and international auction houses, Scott Livesey specializes in providing advice to private and corporate clients on all aspects of the assembly and maintenance of an art collection.

The major stages of development in the High Street Precinct can be seen today in the architecture of the buildings, from the boom years of the 1880s through to the inter-War and post-War years. The importance placed by the early residents and traders in this commercial area is reflected in many of the ornate buildings erected prior to 1900. This trend continued into the Federation era with many buildings featuring elaborate details. In some cases earlier buildings have been replaced, but much of High Street remains substantially intact.
