Bishopsbourne (1865-1868) was built for the first Bishop of Brisbane, Edward Wyndham Tufnell. It remained the official residence of the Bishops, and later Archbishops, of the Diocese until a second Bishopsbourne was purchased at Hamilton in 1962. The new Bishopsbourne was dedicated in 1964.
This original building is now encompassed within the grounds of St Francis' Theological College.
