The Oats Factory showcases the work of emerging artists engaged in all areas of contemporary arts practice. Through a diverse program and community focussed events we hope to develop relationships with the local community and introduce new audiences to contemporary art.

The Alexander Theatre, opened in 1967, and gained international recognition when a model and photographs of it were displayed at the opening of the Kennedy Centre for the Performing Arts in Washington in 1972.

The versatility of the venue has attracted many prestigious professional companies, including Melbourne Theatre Company, Sydney Theatre Company and The Bell Shakespeare Company, and it is commonly used for all types of performances including classical theatre, musicals, pantomime, dance, drama, comedy and multimedia.

The George Jenkins Theatre, the Peninsula's playhouse, is a 426 seat intimate theatre, and an ideal venue for plays, dance, concerts and conferences. Its facilities cater for the corporate and education sectors, local performing groups and organisations as well as touring professional companies.

Its large thrust stage has ample wing space on either side of stage and a cross over at the rear as well as three winched scenery lines, house curtain and additional traveller curtains at mid-stage and rear. Stage access can be made from side of stage as well as via two vomitories under the seating bank. Basic lighting and sound are available for one or two night events, providing for smaller organisations and functions, while a full lighting design can also be accommodated for extended theatre seasons.

Named after Monash University’s founding Chancellor, Sir Robert Blackwood, the Robert Blackwood Hall is Melbourne’s most prestigious venue outside the CBD. Acoustically, it ranks with the best available in Australia and, as such, has been the venue for numerous commercial recordings for the ABC, Melbourne Symphony Orchestra and various film scores.

Being a concert hall, it has no proscenium, stage curtains or fly tower. It is completed by the resplendant Sir Louis Matheson pipe organ as well as two full concert grand pianos including one Steinway.

The Metropolitan Golf Club, one of Melbourne's renowned 'Sandbelt' courses and widely regarded as one of the finest championship courses in Australia, is located approximately 20 minutes from Melbourne city centre. Metropolitan enjoys a reputation as one of the best-conditioned and most beautiful courses in the country. Black Rock House was built in 1856 by Victoria's first Auditor-General, Charles Hotson Ebden, as his seaside retreat. Complete with a castle wall and Moreton Bay Figs, this historic home in the Melbourne Bayside suburb of Black Rock has a fascinating past. It was considered to be the first house built in the district and the suburb of Black Rock is named after the iconic house. Throughout its rich history, Black Rock House has been utilised as a meeting place for Melbourne's elite, as a retreat for Governor Sir Henry Barkly and also as a private house. The heritage listed property is also renowned for its majestic gardens with the themes of these gardens reflecting honouring the connection to the Charles Ebden and local indigenous flora. All are welcome to take a free tour of Black Rock House on Sunday afternoons and by appointment any day for groups. The Friends of Black Rock House Inc originated in 1979 to fill Black Rock House with Victorian furnishings, so visitors are able to gain a sense of life in the house at the time it was built (1856-58). Braeside Park is an oasis of parkland nestled amongst golf courses, urban development and busy roads. Yarra Yarra Golf Club is a private golf club that was established in 1898. The Yarra Yarra Golf Club is located in the Melbourne Sandbelt and is only 35 minutes from Melbourne city and provides daily tee times for interstate and international visitors. The golf course was designed by Alex Russell (the Australian partner of Doctor Aliser MacKenzie) and is Par 72 6,100 metres (6,700 yards) for men and Par 73 5,350 metres (5,900 yards) for women. The course is always maintained in excellent condition and the fairways and greens are some of the best in Melbourne. The unique Mediterranean Clubhouse is heritage listed and provides the perfect setting to relax before or after golf. With its rockpools close to shore, Ricketts Point is the perfect place to introduce kids to the wonder of Victoria's underwater marine life. Sandstone platforms are home to an array of marine creatures and are excellent for rockpool exploration. During summer the beach is patrolled by the life saving club, making it a great option for a summer family outing. Located just near Beaumaris in Melbourne's south east, this sanctuary is 115ha. Bordered by jutting cliffs of sandstone which have been worn down into a series of platforms, sea caves and offshore reefs, this site is easily accessible for all. There are a range of habitats to explore including rocky sandstone intertidal and subtidal habitats, sandy beaches and subtidal soft substrates. Within the diverse range of habitats at this site, there are many plants and animals which can be found. Near shore, the rocks are covered with green and red algae which shelters a range of invertebrates including brittle stars, bristle worms and crustaceans. The surrounding sandy bottoms are covered by patches of seagrass which attract a range of fish species. In deeper waters, rock bommies are carpeted in either green Caulerpa or brown Sargassum, which hides many small animals. These rocks also attract fish species including Southern Hulafish, scalyfin and morwong. If you look carefully, you may be able to uncover one of the masters of disguise, a cuttlefish.
