It features shady Norfolk Island Pines, an ocean pool, excellent fishing opportunities, picnic areas, and barbecues. Black Head has a supermarket, cafés, bowling club, and surf lifesaving club. The Black Head Markets are held in Wylie Breckenridge Park on the first Sunday of the month, from September to May. The Black Head Surf Lifesaving Club overlooks the beach, and is available to hire for functions. Meander along the rainforest walk which encompasses striking coastal landforms and rare tracts of littoral rainforest, a must for nature lovers and keen photographers. Red Head Beach at Hallidays Point is a quiet beach area just north of Black Head Beach, ideal for relaxing strolls. Meander along the rainforest walk which encompasses striking coastal landforms as well as rare tracts of littoral rainforest: a must for nature lovers and keen photographers. The walk takes in two headlands - Black Head and Red Head - and is joined by Black Head Beach. Information about the walk is available from the Visitors Centre in Taree or the Hallidays Point Library. Accommodation close to Red Head Beach consists of a holiday park which has a large number of self-contained ocean and surf villas, powered and unpowered camping sites. There are also self-contained apartments available for rent. Car parking is available adjacent to the beach at the end of Red Head Road.

Black Head Bowling club is situated on the headland in Black Head village with panoramic views overlooking the scenic coastline. Facilities at the Club include TAB, pokies, Keno, cable television, sports bowling greens, fishing club and community centre. When visiting the area, you are welcome to come and join with the locals for a game of bowls. Marg's Bistro is open seven days and has a wide variety of meals including everything from delicious hamburgers to a selection of seafoods. Courtesy bus available.
