Located at the picturesque Mount Pleasant Showground, the Mount Pleasant Farmers Market is only a 40 minute drive from Adelaide and nestled on the outskirts of the Barossa Valley and the Adelaide Hills. A community run business, the Mount Pleasant Farmers Market is the place to go to purchase affordable local food and support local farmers. Open Saturdays from 8am to 12pm, the undercover market is a weekly showcase for fresh, regional and seasonal food brought to you by the people who grow and make it. Stallholders range from fruit, vegetables, milk, cheese, eggs, honey, olive oil, meat, seafood, bread and baked goods, hot breakfasts, fresh coffee, jams, preserves and wine. The market even has a unique dog-minding service for those shoppers who love to bring their four legged friends along. Bring your family and enjoy a hearty country breakfast. Delight in some organic coffee and drink in the atmosphere of an "authentic" farmers market. Partalunga Vineyard, nestled in the breathtaking big red gum country of Mount Pleasant, has been producing premium quality fruit for 30 years. First established by the early 1980s by the famous Seppelt Family and then purchased in 2009 by Phillip and Wendy Bennett from the Adelaide Hills, whose vision is to continue the tradition. The Partalunga Vineyard Cellar Door / Art Gallery is open Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays. Regional platters are available by prior arrangement and the venue is available for hire. Partalunga Vineyard showcases local artists and also holds a seasonal event called "Swinging in the Vines" with local musicians and regional food. It's a lot of fun! Refer to website for details.

The Birdwood Wine and Cheese Centre promotes produce from different regions of South Australia - Adelaide Hills, Barossa Valley, Riverland, Clare Valley, McLaren Vale, Limestone Coast and Kangaroo Island, with their boutique wines, cheeses and gourmet products. Visit the centre and enjoy a complimentary wine and cheese tasting. The Birdwood Wine and Cheese Centre is also the Cellar Door Sales and Tastings for five star Adelaide Hills wine, Coobara. Gift baskets are made to order and delivered throughout Australia filled with South Australian produce. Free membership for our Wine Club will give you the choice of a half dozen or a dozen selected boutique South Australian wines sent every three months with member's discount. Talunga Scaffidi Winery is a beautiful place to bring your interstate and overseas family and friends for an experience to remember. With a combination of Scaffidi award-winning wines, exquisite gourmet and Italian cuisine and breathtaking views and pine forests it's easy to imagine you are in Tuscany. From our restaurant/cafe you can dine indoors by the open fire in winter or outdoors in the atrium during summer. Come and try our famous Tuscan platter. The winery owners, Vince and Tina Scaffidi are proud of their selection of award-winning wines whites and reds sourced from their Adelaide Hills Vineyard and One Tree Hill Vineyard. We usually have about four varieties of our excellent wines in Cleanskins and they are all on taste and you can mix the dozens. What a bonus! So come and visit us soon and be pleasantly surprised. The National Motor Museum at Birdwood houses Australia's most important collection of vintage, veteran and classic motorcars and motor cycles - more than 300 in fact. It's set in a beautiful complex by the River Torrens in Adelaide's picturesque hills, 50 kilometres from Adelaide. The museum hosts special events each year including the Bay to Birdwood Run, The Bay to Birdwood Classic and the Rock 'n Roll Rendezvous. The National Motor Museum is much more than a collection of vehicles - it is a social history of the way we were, the way we are now and the way of the future. Programs are provided for more than 8,000 students who visit each year. Guided tours can be organised by prior arrangement. Hours are flexible for pre-bookings, conventions, plus catering arranged for groups and clubs.

Bring the children to see the world's biggest rocking horse. You can climb to the top of The Big Rocking Horse, which stands at 18 metres high. Then visit the seven-acre animal park where, among other things, wallabies can be hand-fed. Relax and enjoy a meal or coffee in the licensed, child-friendly cafe, outdoor patio or shaded picnic area. Wander through the Toy Factory to see Australia's largest range of quality wooden toys. A huge range of imported, educational wooden toys are available, as well as an impressive supply of souvenirs. The Big Rocking Horse and Toy Factory is in Gumeracha in the leafy Adelaide Hills, just 45 minutes from Adelaide's city centre.
