The Illinbah circuit track now crosses the river 12 times before reaching Illinbah. The Old Cedar Road is sometimes in poor condition and the river crossings are often difficult because the frequent floods change the positions of boulders and track entrances. Usually the track endings on each side of the river are marked with an easily visible red tag on a tree....

The Lower Ballanjui Falls track is located in the Binna Burra section of Lamington National Park. This stunning park covers 20,590 hectares and boasts extensive walking tracks along the McPherson Range, which allow visitors to explore the area's forests, creeks and waterfalls. Dramatic lookouts afford views over the Gold Coast, south-east Queensland and northern New South Wales. Lamington is part of the Gondwana Rainforests of Australia World Heritage Area, which includes the most extensive areas of subtropical rainforest in the world. The Lower Ballanjui Falls track uses part of the Ships Stern track as far as the bottom of Nixon Creek Valley. The track descends sharply into the Nixon Creek valley through eucalypt forest and patches of rainforest, with good views from Koolanbilba and Yangahla lookouts. The track winds down through eucalypt forest and reaches the Lower Bellbird circuit junction where there are magnificent stands of flooded gum and a giant red cedar. The track to Lower Ballanjui Falls leads off to the right....

The Coomera circuit is located in the Binna Burra section of Lamington National Park. Views from the lookout platform provide dramatic evidence of the power of erosion, which has cut through a thick resistant rhyolite lava flow. The circuit climbs beside Coomera Gorge, crossing the river several times before rejoining the Border Track and returning to Binna Burra....

The World Heritage-listed Lamington National Park is renowned as Australia's largest subtropical rainforest. Daves Creek Circuit nestled within the Binna Burra section is home to lush and ancient vegetation, created by ideal warm and wet conditions. Lace your boots for a full day of hiking starting at the Border Track for two kilometres. Spot ancient angiosperms such as coachwood (Ceratopetalum apetalum) and patches of piccabeen palms on-route to Nixon Creek Valley and Daves Creek. Wet sclerophyll forests later emerge with giant New England blackbutt (Eucalyptus campanulata) near the Ship's Stern junction. Follow the signed markers to the circuit's most eastern point at Numinbah lookout with views of Springbrook, Mt Hobwee, Araucaria lookout and the Numinbah Valley - dotted in colourful wildflowers during spring. Relax by the permanent water supply at Picnic Creek with a pre-packed lunch and complete the circuit with a scramble over a volcanic dyke made of un-erosive trachyte at Surprise Rock. ...

Wagawn is reached by following the Border Track out through subtropical and temperate rainforest. The track winds up Mount Hobwee passing the Araucaria Lookout track on the left, through abundant stands of Helmholtzia lilies and climbs through dense rainforest to a junction where the options are left to Wagawn and right to Mount Hobwee. The Wagawn track descends steadily to the Lookout and its views of Springbrook, the Numinbah Valley and Mount Warning. ...
