Enjoy the Environmental Art Gallery at The Ugly Duck Out on Tasmania's sunny east coast. Resident artist Robyn Klobusiak uses the mediums of photography and paint to create a fusion of art and nature. Her images call for the wild world to endure.

Beyond recording the beauty of nature, Robyn's Environmental Art cries out for its protection. She hopes her work inspires people to change behaviour, conserve nature and nurture our planet's vanishing spirit.

Photographic images, painted rocks and painted skulls of road kill feature at the gallery. All her work is designed to touch peoples' hearts, change peoples' minds and perhaps provoke action. At the very least it reminds us of our earth's inspiring beauty and visually challenges us to define the line between our nature and our art.

The casual family restaurant within the gallery specialises in dietary requirements. The globally inspired menu features produce from the on-site vegetable and herb garden. All other produce, meats and seafood are locally and sustainably sourced. Try the Wallaby Goulash, East Coast Calamari or the locally cured bacon and eco-pig. The Ugly Duck Out is also a holder of Ecotourism Australia Accreditation.

The East Coast Heritage Museum is situated in picturesque Swansea on Tasmania's east coast. Located in the main street of this seaside town the museum incorporates a Visitor Information Centre, War Memorial and the Glamorgan Spring Bay Historical Society Inc. The heritage listed whitewashed building has a commanding view of the Freycinet Peninsula. The old section of the building was once a school house and teacher's residence, built in 1860 from stone and rubble used in the Waterloo Point Military Station. The renovated building, new gallery and Visitor Information centre opened in December 2011. The museum's policy is to exhibit and preserve artefacts from the Glamorgan and Spring Bay Municipality for the community, visitors and future generations. The collection of over 5000 items includes an 1880 Historic Fiddleback Blackwood Billiard Table, Thomas Bock's drawings of George and Mary Meredith, Louisa Anne Meredith's books and costumes, honour rolls, war medals, convict relics and much more. Admission is by gold coin donation.

The Bark Mill is a restored mill and museum in Swansea on Tasmania's east coast. The mill is Australia's only restored Black Wattle Bark Mill, and possibly the only one in the world. The fully working mill demonstrates how bark from local black wattle trees was once crushed for export across the world. The bark is the basic ingredient used in tanning. The mill was established in 1885 and continued operation until the early 1960s. A visit here gives a fascinating insight into the ancient art of milling bark. The museum depicts the early history of the oldest rural municipality in Australia. Individual working displays depict life as it was in the 1800s. The descendants of the original settlers have loaned many items and photographs to the exhibition. The Bark Mill complex is opened daily. In addition to the Museum is a Tavern and Bakery making this the ideal place for a stop. The tavern and bakery cater for all meals. A large car park, good access for disabled, well appointed rest rooms and children's playground completes the Bark Mill Tavern, Bakery and Museum complex. The Bark Mill is one hour 40 minutes' drive (134 kilometres/84 miles) from Hobart.

The Swansea Golf Club is a scenic, nine-hole course on the coast at Swansea. Swansea is 90 minutes north east of Hobart (134 kilometres/83 miles) and south east of Launceston (133 kilometres/82 miles). This well-maintained course features undulating, tree-lined fairways and small putting greens. The course is right on the coast at Waterloo Point, a short walk from the town centre and the views across Great Oyster Bay to the Freycinet Peninsula are breathtaking. Swansea is a well-supported community course with regular competitions and events. The club has ladies, veterans, juniors, social and members groups and hosts the four-day East Coast Open each Queen's Birthday long weekend in June. Club hire is available locally and you can enjoy a drink and snack in the club house after your round each Saturday and Wednesday afternoon.
