Alexandra Timber Tramway and museum features local timber history from the Rubicon Forest and other historical displays from one of the largest machinery collections in Australia. The museum's two main events are the Easter Gala and the Heritage Machinery Festival on the second Saturday in September. There are many children's activities including a picnic area, and visitors can access the Great Victorian Rail Trail from the site. The Alexandra Market is held at the museum on the second Saturday of each month from September to May and features a large variety of stalls and train rides. The museum opens from 10L:00am till 4:00pm with steam train rides on the second Sunday of each month and diesel powered train rides on the fourth Sunday. Groups and families welcome.

It is some three decades now since a very talented local lady by the name Shirley Hibbert held patchwork classes at the local Adult Education Center. One wonders if she knew then, that all these years later, her inspiration is still strong and flourishing in Alexandra. Friendships forged then are still alive today and the group has grown into an incorporated body of fifty people, some travelling many miles to enjoy the creative camaraderie which abounds. Alexandra Quilters Inc. is a not for profit friendship group that comes together to share the joy of patchwork and quilting. On the first Saturday and third Monday night of every month. For a small joining fee, ladies enjoy membership with Victorian Quilters Inc. the use of an extensive library, organised activities such as retreats and trips and participation in friendship rounds, whereby they help each other to piece together a quilt learning new techniques as they go....

The Alexandra Market and is held in the grounds of the former railway station in Station Street, Alexandra. Open to all types of stalls, such as fruit and veg, crafts, plants and herbs, jewellery and produce. Market season is from September to May on the second Saturday of each month from 9.00am to 1.00pm. Cost per stall is $20.00 with free parking for stallholders. Grounds are open from 6.00am. Advertising for the Market is through local media and is a free service for stallholders. Sellers of shelf-stable foods such as cakes, biscuits, jams or chutneys, sausage sizzles or barbecues must be registered through 'Streatrader' and have approval from local council. Contact your local council's Environmental Health Department for further information. A letter of approval should be carried with you, as inspectors may visit anytime. The market also has a 'Safety at the Alexandra Community Market: Guide to Stallholders' manual. The Timber Tramway runs a train on market days. Barbecue food is available as well as tea, coffee and cold drinks....

The trucking industry plays an important role in the day to day lives of everyone in the community, from freight transport, mining, waste collection and emergency services, without trucks and most importantly the drivers, society would not function as it does. The Memorial is an initiative of the Creative Ministries Network, and the collaboration of a devoted group of women whose family members were heavily involved in the trucking industry. The Victorian Truck Drivers Memorial is dedicated to truck drivers who have lost their lives while working, and those who have worked as truck drivers and passed away. Go along and pay your respects to these dedicated men and women. The annual Memorial Service is conducted on the Saturday of the long weekend in June each year. ...

The main pool is 33 metres long and varies in depth from 1.4 metres to 3.3 metres. A large undercover shelter area, equipped with tables and seats, provides a fantastic spot to picnic and enjoy the day with family and friends.
