The Tjapukai artists will guide you through the intricate art of weaving, creating natural rainforest style jewellery and painting your own returning boomerang in traditional Aboriginal style. 

Venue
Tjapukai is 15 minutes north of Cairns, next door to Skyrail Rainforest Cableway, off the Captain Cook Highway. Guests can take advantage of Coach Transfers to and from Cairns and the Northern Beaches. A public bus service also stops there from Cairns and its a quick taxi ride from the town centre.

Australian Butterfly Sanctuary is the largest butterfly flight aviary and exhibit in Australia - a quality wildlife park in the heart of Kuranda Village.

Situated next to the Kuranda markets, The Australian Butterfly Sanctuary is home to over 1500 magnificent tropical butterflies that are hand reared on the premises.

All are local rainforest species, including an iconic Kuranda butterfly, the electric blue Ulysses Butterfly, and the majestic fluoro green and yellow Cairns Birdwing.

The aviary, set in the midst of Kuranda rainforest, was opened in 1987 and has been visited by over a million people since. Guided tours through the aviary and laboratory are conducted throughout the day, detailing a butterfly's life cycle and behaviour.

Australian Butterfly Sanctuary is included in several Kuranda tours with other Kuranda attractions, such as the Kuranda Scenic Railway, Skyrail, and other Kuranda zoos such as Rainforestation Nature Park.

Icon of Tropical North Queensland: The original Kuranda Scenic Railway is a spectacular journey comprising unsurpassed views of dense rainforest, steep ravines and picturesque waterfalls within the world heritage listed Barron Gorge National Park.

Constructed between 1882 and 1891 it is considered an engineering feat of tremendous magnitude. Rising from sea level to 328m, this famous railway takes approximately 2 hours to Kuranda, the village in the rainforest, home to unique Australian attractions and markets.

Freshwater Station is located 15 minutes outside of Cairns. It has a gift shop & Railway Museum. Breakfast is served daily in the open air restaurant or a choice to dine in an original railway carriage.

On arrival, our team will help prepare you for the bungy jump of your life!

We will weigh you, get you to sign a waiver form and issue a ticket. You will then walk up the 45 metre tower which usually takes 3-4 minutes. At the top, our jump master awaits. They will collect your ticket before putting on a body harness, tie your feet and attach the proper bungy cord for your weight.

From the top of the tower views of the ocean can be

seen and below just a man made pond for the ultimate water touch or splash down. Once at the top of the tower, you will be given the option to decide whether you would like to touch the water below. Then there is a quick countdown - 5,4,3,2,1 ... woohoo!

CAIRNS WILDLIFE DOME is a spectacular all-weather wildlife immersion exhibit - and open and interactive environment for humans and animals to mingle in a spacious natural setting - enclosed by a 20 metre high glass dome on top of the iconic Reef Hotel Casino. Immerse yourself in a rainforest environment whilst parrots, cockatoos and other birds native to the Wet Tropics region fly freely around you. Interact with other animals such as turtles, pythons, freshwater crocodiles, lizards and gliders. In the late afternoon, observe the feeding habits of curlews, bettongs, frogmouths and kookaburras.

The Dome is home to The Cairns ZOOm, the world’s first Challenge Ropes Course in a wildlife immersion exhibit, consisting of over 50 elements of crossings and ziplines – including one which takes participants directly over the top of Goliath, our 4 metre saltwater crocodile!

Interact with and be educated about our native fauna at different heights within the Dome during an exhilarating experience, then walk along internal and external walkways with a unique birds-eye view of the internal layout of the Dome, as well as a spectacular view of the city and surrounding land and seascapes.

When boarding the overnight scuba diving boat, expect to notice the friendly environment that the expert crew sets as you depart Cairns sailing to your first diving location. once there, you will have plenty of time to take in all of the beautiful corals and marine life in the secluded Great Barrier Reef dive and snorkel location.
