Forbes Railway Arts and Visitor Information Centre is located in the old railway building on Union Street. Although passenger rail services no longer exist from Forbes, the station is used as a pick up and drop off point for Countrylink bus services. The centre is run by volunteers of the Forbes community in conjunction with Forbes Shire Council. The centre provides people visiting the Forbes Shire with information services and assistance in what ever way possible. The centre also has a large range of handmade goods, arts and crafts, Forbes memento's as well as delicious home made cakes and goodies. If you are interested in the history of Forbes and that of the infamous bushranger Ben Hall, you can learn all about him and his gang in the Ben Hall discovery room and view a recreation of his life and of his death.

Located right in the middle of the central business district is the Forbes Platypus Gallery. The Gallery is operated by the Members and Friends of the Forbes Arts Society. On exhibition and for sale are works from artists in the Forbes, Parkes, Orange, Cowra, Peak Hill and surrounding areas. Call in and browse the magnificent works, and you never know; you might just find a special piece that catches your eye.

The Forbes and District Historical Society Museum is housed in 'Osborne Hall' - the dance hall of the Osborne Hotel which was built circa 1878. Displayed in the Museum are items pertaining to all facets of the history of Forbes - aboriginal artefacts, furniture, photographs, tools, clothing and household wares together with a large display of old and historic machinery including an "Ivel" tractor. Also at the Museum is the new exhibition, Ben Hall - The Myths Behind the Legend.

McFeeters Motor Museum showcases a stunning private collection of vehicles ranging from 1905 to 1999. Housed in a purpose built complex, the collection consists of veterans, vintage, classic, street rods and custom cars. As of June 2013, McFeeters Motor Museum has become an accredited Visitor Information Centre. If you are heading into Forbes from the West, be sure to call in and the friendly staff can assist with your enquiries. Also located in the Motor Museum complex is the Superbee Car Cafe, souvenir gift shop and Banderra Estate cellar door which is available for tastings and sales. Whether your interest is as a car enthusiast, architectural buff or you are just travelling through; McFeeters Motor Museum is definitely worth a visit.
