Ash's Speedway Museum is open weekends, Public Holidays or by appointment. The museum is the largest collection of speedway memories in the Southern Hemisphere. It holds a large collection of Bathurst's "Bluey Wilkinson", the first Australian champion of the World. The collection also includes items from the 1920's and from all over the world. Speedway in Bathurst dates back to the 1920's, with many speedway stars originating from Bathurst and surrounds. These include Bluey Wilkinson - 1938 World Speedway Champion, Glen McDonald - 1970's star, Johnny Langfield 1960's to 1970's and present day NSW captain Tim Heffernan. On show now, they have six Golden helmets which Ivan Mauger won in six world championships. These helmets have never been displayed before in a museum. They now have the largest collection of Ivan Mauger history in the Southern hemisphere. Come and enjoy Ash's collection.

The Bathurst Courthouse is one of Australia's best examples of Victorian era public architecture. This magnificent building was opened 16 July 1880, and is situated in the heart of the city. It is listed by the National Trust and was designed by James Barnet who also designed the Bathurst Bowling Club (formerly the Police Barracks). The courthouse is the regular venue for sittings of the court of petty sessions, district and supreme courts. The east wing now houses the Bathurst and District Historical Society Museum, while the west wing is occupied by the Mitchell Conservatorium Incorporated.

The Bathurst Memorial Entertainment Centre (BMEC) is one of the finest performing arts centres in regional Australia. The Bathurst Memorial Entertainment Centre opened in March 1999 and comprises a well equipped 642 seat proscenium arch theatre; city hall licensed for a maximum of 1100; 550 maximum for sit down dinners with dance floor; four small conference rooms catering for up to 120 people each; commercial kitchen, three licensed bars; two foyers which can be used for separate functions, additional break out rooms and more. The centre has its own entertainment program and attracts bookings from a wide range of sources. The centre does not have in-house catering (apart from tea, coffee, and afternoon tea services), but quotes from local caterers can be arranged upon request.

Bathurst Regional Art Gallery (BRAG) is one of the oldest regional galleries in NSW. It is a well equipped and professionally staffed facility owned and operated by Bathurst Regional Council. Home to one of the finest collection of Lloyd Rees artworks in regional NSW. BRAG's exhibition program features a diverse range of touring exhibitions, Local Artist Project Shows, exhibitions created from the permanent collection and work of Hill End Artists. The design of the gallery allows programming of three to four exhibitions at a time, with an exhibition changeover every six weeks. With an average of 25 exhibitions per year, there is always plenty of new material for visitors. The gallery has guided tours, children's activities, public programmes and is wheelchair friendly.

The Bathurst Gold Crown Carnival is the feature of the harness racing calendar - held annually in late March. It features six race meetings and many social events. Bathurst Goldfields, a reconstruction of a gold mining village which has a mine, a working stamper battery crushing ore, operative steam engines, a miner's hut, a blacksmith's forge and gold panning. Take a guided tour of the indoor museum, explaining the history of gold in New South Wales, the working life of a gold miner, displays of mining tools, documents from the gold rush era and minerals from around the world. There is an extensive display of general household items that were in use in the Victorian home. Tour will continue onto the outdoor museum with Chinese temple housing artefacts and see how the Chinese work practices and lifestyle varied from the European miners. Demonstrations of old style blacksmithing and see a steam engine room.

Chifley Home is a house museum which serviced as the only marital home of Australian Prime Minister Ben Chifley and his wife, Elizabeth. The home contains original household furnishings and personal belongings of the Chifley's. On display are also ceremonial gifts presented to Ben Chifley in his roles as Commonwealth Treasurer and Prime Minister. The Chifley Home also has an Interpretative Centre which features additional displays on Ben Chifley and serves as an educational centre for school groups and a venue for changing exhibitions.

The building known as Old Government Cottage is a rare, intact example, of an early Bathurst home. This historic building is located at 16 Stanley Street on the western side of the Macquarie River in the area of the old Government settlement. The building was re-opened after its recent repair and refurbishment in July 2012. This was the first major work on the building since the mid 1960s. Bathurst is an historic city and it is imperative that historic buildings be saved such as this building. . Old Government Cottage was opened as a museum in 1965 by Sir Eric Woodward, Governor of NSW, as part of Bathurst's sesquicentennial celebration. It was believed at the time that the cottage had been built in 1817 as the residence of the Commandant of the Bathurst Settlement, established in 1815 by Governor Macquarie. Subsequent research has established that the Commandant's residence, also known as Government House, was a short distance away. However, the origins of Old Government Cottage remain a mystery. ...
