Art exhibits will be changed on a regular basis to keep the gallery fresh and also to give local artists a chance to exhibit their works in their own exhibitions.
Ken Taber is a self-taught artist who paints in both acrylics and oils. His preferred subjects are usually water scenes, misty swamps, tidal backwaters, beach scenes and his later work, semi-abstract acrylics of water birds in their environment. Ken has now been painting since 1968 and has had many one man and joint exhibitions. His paintings are hung in collections around the world. He now resides on the New South Wales south coast near Batemans Bay. His house and studio gallery is situated on a five acre block amidst a beautiful sub-tropical water garden. Murramarang National Park protects over 11,977 hectares of coastal land between Kiola and Batemans Bay on the state's South Coast. Four offshore islands are also included in the park - Wasp Island, Grasshopper Island, Dawsons Island and O'Hara Island. Murramarang offers a wide range of activities including swimming, surfing, fishing, picnicking, bushwalking, photography and nature study. The park's largely undisturbed coastline with its sandy and shingle beaches, rugged headlands, tombolas, rock stacks and fossil-bearing rocks provides visitors with a rich environment to explore. Eastern grey kangaroos, swamp wallabies and common birdlife such as parrots, finches, honeyeaters and sea birds inhabit the park. The Eurobodalla Regional Botanic Gardens is situated on a 42 hectare forest site on the South Coast of New South Wales, five kilometres south of Batemans Bay. The gardens grow and display plants which occur naturally in the region. The site abounds with a wide variety of flora and fauna including many of the 2000 species of plants, trees and shrubs of the region. There are kangaroos, wallabies, bandicoots, possums, echidnas, snakes, lizards, frogs and many birds. Features include display gardens, walking tracks, picnic and barbecue areas, children's playground, a visitors centre and cafe. Please note no pets allowed in the gardens.
A good days fishing, with plenty more for tomorrow' - From Murramarang Beach to Wallaga Lake is 85,000 hectares of estuaries, creeks, rivers and lakes nearly all available for recreational fishing with little restriction. These beautiful waters are home to a very diverse range of marine life and habitats, including Dolphins, Seals, Sharks and Rays. This makes for some very exciting marine activities; at Montague Island you can even snorkel with the Seals! Kayaking is popular throughout the park as a great way to explore the waters and see some of the fantastic coastline scenery. Located just a short 10 minute drive south of Batemans Bay central business district, Surf Beach Batemans Bay is very popular with both locals and visitors alike. Stefan and Kathy Paschalidis continue the farming and retail tradition established by family patriarch Christos more than 30 years ago. They farm the popular 'Sydney Rock Oyster' and the 'Angasi' (Native Flat Oyster), in the Clyde River Estuaries. Once they are harvested they are taken to the shed where they are meticulously graded for quality assurance and freshly opened for you to enjoy at the Pearly Oyster Bar.
