A picturesque horse and beef cattle 30 acre property surrounds the three bedroom 1920s Queenslander farm house which has been elegantly restored. There is a wood burning Norwegian fireplace however the home is also air conditioned for both cooling and heating. Chill out on the verandah and watch for platypus, turtles, saratoga fish, and a variety of water birds in an ever changing show of wildlife. Downstream of the farm house the creek is held back by a natural waterfall and weir providing a constant deep water level for kayaking and fishing. Their private jetty is directly accessible down stairs from the house. There is a two man canoe for guest use. The charming village of Imbil just a short walk across the town bridge. The village is the hub of the beautiful Mary River Valley and has an historic hotel, cafes, general store and most facilities.

The Mary River Festival, held each year in Kandanga in early November has acquired a reputation of being one of the friendliest, most laid back festivals you'd find, with a great mix of top music, art, kid's activities and much much more. This festival runs on a not for profit basis with an incredibly lean budget, through the generous involvement of local community groups, as well as a number of individuals, and enjoys wonderful support from musicians and participants. As well as the sense of community though, what really powers this festival is the exuberance unleashed in 2009, after Peter Garrett gave the federal thumbs-down on the Traveston Crossing Dam proposal. All cabins havea verandah, common lounge area with television and a kitchenette with fridge and a kettle for making tea and coffee. Two cabins have been designed specifically for wheelchair access.The communal centre, the Hive, has a commercial kitchen, a dining/meeting area, covered patio area leading to a fire pit and barbeque and a laundry.
