The Belgians are renowned just as much for their quirky off-the-wall customs as they are their exquisite beers, and here at the Belgian Beer Cafe, they offer generous serves of both. Regulars hardly bat an eyelid at the sight of a besuited businessman wearing one fluffy pink slipper on his left foot while nursing an ornate glass of Kwak, but it does have the odd newcomer looking up from their Chalice of Lefe Brune. That's what is known as the 'shoe for the glass' tradition: when ordering a Kwak, customers are asked for their left shoe as a holding deposit on the glass and are loaned a slipper in exchange. Exquisite beer deserves exquisite food and the Belgian Beer Café has unique European fare as well as some smart Aussie pub favourite’s available noon until late 7 days a week.

Born from the brain of Perth local Liam Mazzucchelli after a desire to find a venue where the Underground was promoted; where the music and club scene could flourish within his own parameters. The Perth scene was at a place where the opening of such a venue captured a part of the market which was hungry for a place to play and expand in.
The Lucky Shag Waterfront Bar takes it's name from the cormorant bird that is often seen on and around the river from the bar itself.
Word has it that when the owners were sat at the bar trying to decide upon a suitable name a shag swooped down into the water and emerged with two fishes, somebody immediately said "Gee that's a lucky shag !" , and the name was born. Of course others tell a different story as to the origins of the name and we'll leave you to figure that one out !!
The Lucky Shag Bar has grown in the last seven years from a small 30 – 40 person drinking hole that only the very few knew about to it's present size and known to a much larger amount of people and at the same time become a firm favourite of locals and tourists alike.
