The Brisbane is somewhat a reinvention of the classic pub, set in urban and contemporary surroundings. Jackson's menu is seasonally based and offers a wide-range of a la carte choices including a section for vegetarians. His "Dego" (as Neal explains it - Australian for degustation) provides diners with the opportunity to experience the full breadth of his talents in seven different courses, either by themselves or matched with a selected glass of wine, with a choice of upgrading to the premium “Sommelier’s Selection”.

This beautiful, iconic and majestic building was built in 1899. It is situated in the trendy cafe area of Mt Lawley.

Internally the public spaces have been opened up in a major way with removal of sections of the upper floor and ceilings over the bar area. A fireplace suspended in space, door jambs left standing in the middle of the room. The result is a building that is quite obviously not original, but neither is the way in which it is used today and judging by the re-visits by many who return it is a place people enjoy using. Upstairs your guests will also be able to enjoy the balcony views, which look onto the bustling movement of Beaufort Street.
