Walking and bike tracks, waterfalls and rock pools; Dharawal National Park near Helensburgh, an important place for Aboriginal people, is a great place to spend the day. Dharawal National Park offers a diverse bushland experience in southern Sydney. Sustained by a distinctive network of creeks, including the ecologically-important O'Hares Creek catchment, this leafy park is of great significance to the Dharawal Aboriginal people and protects a number of special Aboriginal sites. The park’s ancient landscape is a contrast of tall eucalypts, heaths, swamps, waterfalls and rockpools. There’s plenty to see and do for the day; take a short walk to Maddens Falls, stop by Stokes Creek for a swim and picnic lunch or ride your mountain bike along one of the park’s trails. Dharawal National Park is one of NSW's newest, so NPWS is working to provide additional low key facilities for your enjoyment. Don’t forget to keep an eye out for wildlife among the eucalypt trees, frogs and the diverse birdlife flitting through the park’s trees, swamps and skies....

For some of the best gorge views, make tracks to Dharawal National Park and O'Hares Creek lookout. Located within easy reach of Appin, Campbelltown and Wollongong, it’s a great family day trip, with excellent opportunities for wildlife-spotting and birdwatching. To access the lookout, you’ll need to walk along O'Hares Creek lookout walking track through unspoilt bushland, where you’ll pass forests of scribbly gums and tall scrub. The views from the lookout are spectacular; scenic gorge views into O'Hares Creek with picturesque rockpools far below. Take your binoculars and make the most of your vantage point with a spot of wildlife and birdwatching. Keen eyes might even glimpse a koala asleep in the branches of a gumtree. Soak in the tranquillity and wide open spaces before retracing your steps....

Coach House Art Gallery and Museum

The Coach House Art Gallery and Museum complex is situated in the main street of Wedderburn, on the Calder Highway approximately half way between Melbourne and Mildura. The Museum offers a step back in time to a General Store which was built in 1913 as an upgrade to the then existing store which was built in the 1840's, also to see are some old carriages and a blacksmiths shop. The Gallery has exhibitions which feature mostly local artists. The exhibitions change on a four to five week time table. There is an entry fee to the museum, although the gallery is only a gold coin donation. Please contact the Coach House Art Gallery and Museum for further information.
