Explore the great outdoors and uncover treasures along Australia's longest recreational rail trail, The Brisbane Valley Rail Trail. The trail follows the old Brisbane Valley Railway line for 161 kilometres from Wulkuraka to Yarraman. The trail is a mecca for mountain bikers, horse riders, hikers and dog walkers who enjoy the excitement of experiencing a range of environments. Along the journey, rail trailers experience a range of rural landscapes, creek crossings and historic landmarks. As the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail takes in many of Somerset's towns, visitors can choose how much or how little of the trail they would like to experience. The original rail line was built in the 1880's to transport timber, milk and beef to Brisbane and supply farmers and towns along the railway line.
