Landcruiser Mountain Park at Jimna, just two hours from Brisbane via Kilcoy, is a working cattle property and Queensland's first privately owned wilderness park designed for off-road and bush camping enthusiasts. There are 250 kilometres of specially designed four wheel drive trails, varying in standard to suit beginner and experienced off-road drivers. Rated as one of the top ten camping spots in South East Queensland, the park has grassed, shady camping areas beside the creeks where you can relax around the campfire and enjoy the peace and quiet of the Australian bush. Four wheel drive and two wheel drive vehicles can access all the main camping areas with trailers, vans and campervans. The 4 main camping areas all have gas hot showers and toilets, one of these also has handicap facilities. Dogs are allowed but no motorbikes. The park office carries drinks, ice, milk, bread. Basic supplies including fuel, gas refills and groceries can be replenished from Kilcoy which is 60 kilometres away. A public payphone is located at the office. Looking to keep busy during your visit to Kilcoy? Visit one of three wineries, go boating or fishing at Lake Somerset, wander around Yowie Park or visit the environmental interpretive display at the Kilcoy Information Centre. Stay the night at one of the quaint country motels or one of three RV friendly sites and explore the gift and antique shops, boutique cafes, Aussie pubs and surrounding wineries Kilcoy was accredited as an RV friendly town in 2014. Here you will find three designated caravan rest areas including the Kilcoy showgrounds and Seib Street. The Kilcoy Showgrounds has powered sites and amenities for a small fee. The dump point is also located at the showgrounds. The Seib street rest area is available as a 20 hour stop over for self contained vehicles and is located adjacent to Yowie Park. When staying at the rest areas, please be respectful of the community and other travellers by minimising noise and cleaning up after yourself before you leave. If you are visiting Kilcoy you can't miss the Yowie. The Yowie legend dates back generations, including early Aboriginal accounts. With the most famous Yowie encounter occurring at Sandy Creek in 1979. Yowie Park pays homage to the Yowie legend with a statue of this mythical creature.
