Cat-o'-Nine Tails Cruises have been operating educational and historical tours to St Helena Island since 1982. Our modern 17 metre catamaran, Cat-O'-Nine-Tails, takes only 30 minutes to reach the Island from Brisbane's bayside suburb of Manly.

A Brisbane bayside soldier statue memorial has had a harsh life in serving to remind its community of the 16 local men who died in WWI. The original Carrara marble soldier statue above a plinth was unveiled by state parliamentarian WH Barnes MLA in March 1921. The designer and stonemason are unrecorded. Names on the front of the plinth are those of men from Manly who died in WWI. The western face bears the names of locals who died in WWII. Years of vandalism culminated in the marble statue being pulled from the pedestal and the head broken off in 1992. A concrete replica replaced the statue in 2007.

Historic Ormiston House was built in the 1860s by Captain Louis Hope, who was to become known as the Father of the Australian Sugar Industry. The house is surrounded by 14 acres of equally historic grounds and gardens overlooking Moreton Bay, a beautiful setting for one of the finest examples of colonial architecture in Queensland. Ormiston House is listed on the Queensland Heritage Register. The house and its grounds have been carefully restored over the past 44 years, funded by the fundraising activities of a volunteer committee and a team of dedicated volunteers. Throughout the year, Ormiston House has a busy and varied calendar of open days and special events that attract many visitors and tourists to sample the delights of the house and its surrounds. There are occasions that celebrate the house's strong Scottish connection, its history and its beautiful gardens; several Concours d'Elegance, Mother's Day High Tea and elegant Edwardian Tea Parties on the verandah.

Since commencing operation 50 years ago with the first vehicle ferry, MV Myora, Stradbroke Ferries has grown to become the largest marine operator in Moreton Bay, with seven vehicle ferries and one water taxi. Today Stradbroke Ferries operates vehicle ferries and water taxi services to Straddie and vehicle ferry services to the Southern Bay Islands of Lamb, Karragarra, Macleay and Russell. Stradbroke Ferries are open for business 7 days a week, 365 days a year, with booking offices located at Cleveland and Redland Bay on the mainland, and Dunwich on North Stradbroke Island. The North Stradbroke Island terminal is located at Toondah Harbour at the end of Middle Street in Cleveland. The Redland Bay terminal for services to Russell, Lamb, Macleay and Karragarra Islands is located on Weinam Street. At the departure terminal there is a reservations office where the friendly staff can answer any questions that you may have. A range of information brochures about the islands is also available....
