All the toads are placed in a plastic container in the centre of a circle, then the container is removed: the first toad to go outside the circle is the winner. Wreck Diving at Magnetic Island

Located within the waters of the World Heritage listed Great Barrier Reef Marine Park, Magnetic Island has a wealth of interesting dive sites. Some of the best places to dive are found in Geoffrey, Alma, Arthur and Florence Bays and the reef in Nelly Bay. The Moltke wreck, a German barque in Geoffrey Bay is an excellent dive, especially at night, with a large variety of coral in a concentrated area and teeming with fish life. The wreck is marked by a post near the Arcadia wharf. The wreck of the Platypus an old dredge boat, is in Arthur Bay, on the left hand side out towards the point in a rocky cove and is encrusted with hard corals. Most ships were sunk as shelters to moorings or jetties. But the Island's rocks have also claimed the schooner Lavina in Rocky Bay, and the ketch Lallah Rookh was wrecked on Bremner Point in 1896. The Bee, a steam launch, was the first regular ferry service to the mainland. It came to grief on Knobby Point near Picnic Bay in 1901. The wrecks are relatively shallow, so are perfect for novices or for relaxed enjoyable diving.

We do not have a planned itinerary as we plan our trip taking in consideration the weather and tides for snorkeling. We do snorkel the fringing Great Barrier Reef around Magnetic Island and we also visit a beautiful beach/bay to explore, paddle board, kayak or relax. Jump on board a 58-foot sailing yacht for a gentle sunset sail in the magical waters surrounding Magnetic Island. Enjoy a selection ofÂ Tamburlaine organic wines or beers with some delicious local cheeses while you kick back and relax on a beautiful sailing yacht.

Your 58-foot sailing yacht is perfect for a twilight cruise. She's a beautiful 58 foot sailing yacht with two deep cockpits and a large foredeck with plenty of space for everyone. For twilight cruises numbers are limited (up to 12 guests) to ensure a very personal service for all guests on board.

At 4.15pm you will be met on the corner of the Peppers Boardwalk restaurant and the Magnetic Island FerriesÂ car ferry ramp at the Nelly Bay Ferry Terminal and shown to the beautiful 58 foot sailing yacht, which is only a stones throw away from the meeting spot.

Once on board you'll have a choice of places to sit - on the foredeck, on the beanbags in the middle or in one of the two cockpits at the back of the boat. Â There's plenty of space for everyone to spread out and with a maximum of around fourteen guests it'll feel like your own private charter.

On departing Magnetic Island Marina at 4.30pm you'll receive a quick introduction and safety brief before pulling up sails in Cleveland Bay. Â Guests are always invited to get involved if you wish, or feel free to watch the crew, Paul & Clare, hoist the sails before turning off the engine to enjoy the peace.

Once under sail, you will be offered a selection of Tamburlaine Organic Wines, which include Sauvignon Blanc, Vintage Blanc de Blanc, Chardonnay and a Petit Fleur (Rose). For non-wine drinkers, there is a locally brewed beer and soft drinks. Â There is also a delicious cheese platter to enjoy with your wine - be sure to try the homemade pumpkin chutney!!!

The route of the 90 minute cruise in Cleveland Bay will depend on the wind (strength and direction) and the skipper, Paul will ensure that it is the most comfortable ride for the prevailing conditions. Â Paul will also line the boat up for the perfect view of the sun setting over Magnetic Island - make sure your cameras are ready!

Once the sun has dropped below the island, we will drop the sails and motor back into Nelly Bay Harbour in time for your dinner plans.

Starting at the eastern end of Picnic Street in Picnic Bay, follow a track that will lead you to the saddle between Rocky Bay and Picnic Bay. Here, you will have a decent view over Rocky Bay. From here, you can even scramble down to Rocky Bay. Otherwise, the track then winds to the top of a large boulder, offering views over toward Picnic, Nelly, and Geoffrey Bays and back toward Townsville. This is Hawkings Point Lookout. One of the best places to watch sunrise and sunset on Magnetic Island....

Arthur Bay

Arthur Bay is located on the north-east corner of Magnetic Island. Magnetic Island is an angler's dream with a catch virtually guaranteed! Sit back, throw in a line and enjoy the rush of reeling in your latest bite. What a catch it can be; 22-pound Coral Trout and 44-pound Spanish Mackerel are among the trophies happy fishermen have taken home. If you want to gain some local insight, take a fishing tour. This is also a great option to explore areas only accessible by boat. Alternatively, head to one of the local stores and grab some fresh bait to try your luck at one of the beaches, rocky points and inshore waters. In these spots you are likely to discover bream, flathead, whiting, queen fish and trevally; not to mention the incredible beach views and rocky settings the environment offers. Head to Nobby Head, the rocks of Bright Point or the Picnic Bay Jetty for some of the best fishing locations. If you have a boat some of the best fishing spots around Magnetic Island include Middle Reef, West Point, Orchard Rocks and Palmosa and Argonant wrecks near Horseshoe Bay. Geoffrey Bay Snorkel Trail

Recommended as one of the 10 best snorkelling spots in Queensland, Magnetic Island has developed two snorkel trails for visitors to enjoy, one from Nelly Bay and one from Geoffrey Bay. Before you head to the beach, pick up a swim card from one of the many retail outlets as they have useful information about the coral and fish you can see. When you get to Geoffrey Bay, wrap the swim card on your wrist, walk straight off the beach and follow the numbered white surface floats that outline the trail (and also offer a good spot to take a rest). On a calm day you will see an amazing array of fish species, especially around the Moltke wreck. For stronger swimmers, the WWII aeroplane propeller and engine block (from a CW-22B Curtiss Falcon) is another great place to explore. Do: wear stinger suits between November to April as stingers (marine jellyfish) are around. Do not: stand on coral or hold onto the sub-surface numbered floats. Water clarity is poorer during and after south-east winds and avoid very low or high tides during new or full moon phases....
