Located 27 kilometres north of Townsville is the secluded beachside suburb of Saunders Beach. A hidden treasure, this resort offers eight fully self-contained ground level units that cater for singles, families, groups and we are also wheelchair friendly. If you don't wish to self cater they have a Licensed Steakhouse within walking distance that offer dine in or take away meals. This resort offers a salt water heated pool (heated in the winter months), undercover parking, barbecues, full laundry facilities, a games rooms with an adult and children's library and Foxtel, basketball hoop and all this located 20 metres from the waters edge so you can be lulled to sleep at night by the crashing waves. The beautiful golden sands are a pleasure to walk on looking out at the outlaying islands. Fishing, boating and swimming is a must in the warm waters and fossicking for shells can always turn up some lovely shells. Pack a picnic and relax by the picturesque fresh water creek at Bluewater. Access to the creek is via the Bluewater Store (near the bridge), or Bluewater Park. Facilities include barbecues, toilets, showers and play equipment and a designated area is available for limited free tent and vehicle camping. The Urban Forest is adjacent to Bluewater Park. There is a fitness trail over 800 metres long with eight activity stations located along a pathway surrounded by over 7000 trees.
