The Nagambie Lakes Community Market is located on the grassy south-eastern bank of beautiful Lake Nagambie starting at Jacobson's Outlook parallel with High Street and flows along the walkway to Blayney Reserve (behind the Waterfront Motel). The market is held the first Saturday of each month from 9:00am to 1:00pm, plus extra markets to coincide with community or tourism events. The market runs with a make, bake, sew & grow theme that insists on a high level of local and Australian content. Regular stalls include fresh local & regional produce, local & regional products (sauces, jams, honey, furniture), goats meat products, soaps & candles, leather products, hats and socks, and garden ornaments and plants. Visitors will also find handmade jewellery, tech accessories, plants, cakes, hot and cold food & drinks, craft & giftware, and books & DVDs. Take a drive to Nagambie, less than 90 minutes from Melbourne and centrally located. The APS Regatta, Heads of the River

The APS Head of the River is a Rowing regatta contested by boys and girls from the 11 schools that form the Associated Public Schools of Victoria. It is the last regatta of the summer rowing season and is the most prestigious prize for the winning crew and school. First held in 1868, the Regatta has a long and eventful history. Early boats were fixed seat four oared rigs, while today's boats are sliding seat eight oared rigs with racing shells made of composite materials. For many years the Head of the River rotated from the Yarra River to the Barwon River, before being moved to Nagambie Lakes in 2001. During the 1970's girls started representing their schools, first in single sculls, then in four oared rigs and today in eight oared rigs. The APS Regatta Heads of the River is a fantastic opportunity to see some of the brightest young rowers in the state competing, not only for themselves, but also for their schools. Come on down to Nagambie Lakes to see some great rowing action....

Black Caviar Statue

On 24 October 2013, history was created when Nagambie became home to the life size bronze statue of the world famous mare Black Caviar. The champion mare is the fastest horse in the world, undefeated in all her 25 races. Black Caviar was born on 18 August 2006 at Gilgai Farm in Nagambie, Victoria. She grew up on the Goulburn River property and then went to Swettenham Stud in December 2007 for a ten-week yearling preparation. She was then sold on behalf of breeder Rick Jamieson to her owners, a syndicate of five couples. Black Caviar was trained by Peter Moody and ridden by jockey Luke Nolen in 22 of her 25 wins. The mighty mare, affectionately known as ?Nelly? retired on 17 April 2013 and now enjoys life as a broodmare....

The Tar and Roses range of wines consists of European varietals and grew out of the desire to make iconic European wines at home in Central Victoria. Don and Narelle have drawn from their overseas experience, particularly in Spain, to craft the range in a style that reflects their interpretation of these classic varieties. Fruit for the range is sourced mainly from the renowned premium wine region of Heathcote as well as from the Strathbogie Ranges, Nagambie, Northeast Victoria and the Priorat, Spain. Tar and Roses are the main descriptors for Nebbiolo, the king of red wine in Italy and one of the wines within the range. Don and Narelle also released their first Riesling under the Tar and Roses brand in late 2014. This Riesling is named after Don, acknowledging his 40 years of making award winning Riesling....
