In November 2016, the AFL is hosting the inaugural McDonalds AFL Nines Classic in the heart of Sydney. The free event will bring together 100 teams from all over the country to play McDonalds AFL Nines, competing for more than AUD50,000 in cash prizes. The SCG/Moore Park precinct will come alive with an interactive AFL Fanzone, kids activities, food stalls, pop-up bars, music and loads of entertainment for players and spectators. The event is all about having fun, with participants playing a modified version of the game we all love with friends and family. AFL Nines Classic is open to people aged 18 and over, regardless of AFL playing experience. All participants will be invited the NAB AFL Draft event on Friday, November 25, and finalists will have the opportunity to play on the SCG, the home of the Sydney Swans. The Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) Museum is dedicated to collecting, documenting, preserving and displaying the unique sporting and social activities that have occurred on the grounds of the Sydney Cricket Ground and the Allianz Stadium since the mid 1800s. Significant items in the the museum include the baggy green caps of cricket legends Victor Trumper, Don Bradman and Steve Waugh, and Ricky Ponting's 2007 bat. There are also early documents from the grounds' administration, and images of early international sporting matches played at the SCG. The SCG Museum is accessible via the SCG Tour Experience, a 90 minute behind the scenes historical journey through the Sydney Cricket Ground, Allianz Stadium and the SCG Museum....
