It's a 2.3 kilometre circuit that offers panoramic views of the coastline. Get your blood pumping by climbing up the 600 metre track to Turtle Lookout. True to its name, this viewing platform allows you to enjoy the spectacle of turtles swimming in the crystal clear waters below. You can also see the Keppel Bay islands from this lookout. Located in the Double Head section of the Capricorn Coast National Park, this trail is sometimes called the Fan Rock Track or Rosslyn Bay Lookout track by locals. The walk will take you past magnificent fig trees and then through scrub and open grasslands. Fan Rock is one of the highlights - a remnant of an old volcano. North Keppel Island Hilltop Trail is located on North Keppel Island within Keppel Bay Islands National Park. Steep hills and cliffs, which plunge into the sea, are features of the islands but there are also sheltered bays and quiet sandy beaches. The Great Barrier Reef Marine Park surrounds the Keppel Bay islands. Together they form part of the Great Barrier Reef World Heritage Area, the world's largest reef and island system. It is of exceptional beauty and biological diversity, protecting many endangered animals and plants. The 5.3 kilometre one way Island Hilltop Trail departs from the information shelter at Considine Beach's southern end. This walk begins on the Mazie Bay track then turns onto the Keppel Bay lookout track, which offers views of the island, Mazie Bay and other northern islands. It is a short 850 metre walk uphill to the Keppel Bay lookout. For the Island Hilltop track, continue past the Keppel lookout. This bush track winds through pockets of Banks' grevillea (Grevillea banksii) and grass-cloaked hilltops on the eastern side of the island and offers spectacular views of the ocean, islands and coast. Byfield National Park and Byfield Conservation Park extend over 15,000 hectares. Boasting massive parabolic sand dunes (the oldest reaching more than five kilometres inland) and rugged pinnacles, the parks offer remote coastal camping opportunities. The area also supports many rare and endangered plants and animals and is the traditional home of the Darumbal Aboriginal people. These parks will delight birdwatchers. Sandy Point is part of an internationally recognised wetland and is a breeding site for migratory shorebirds. Endangered little terns roost on the coastal sands. You'll find this track at the southern end of Nine Mile Beach. The highlight is definitely the Queen Mary - the largest active sand blow in the region with scenery that could be likened to the surface of the moon. Walk to the edge of this natural wonder to enjoy the view. The track entrance is 9.9 kilometres south of Nine Mile Beach Access Track/Junction 19. A popular track for walker, joggers, cyclists and families, the Capricorn Coast Pineapple Rail Trail takes visitors through picturesque bushlands and urban landscape. A recreational attraction and pedestrian/cycleway link, the asphalt path stretches four and a half kilometres from the Yeppoon town centre through bushland to the golf course and Club Estate. The railway line was constructed in 1909 and originally stretched 53 kilometres between Yeppoon and Rockhampton. The track was closed down in 2006 when it?s main loading of pineapples moved to road transport. The new Capricorn Coast Pineapple Rail Trail was opened in 2014....

Byfield Cabins is a private, couples only, retreat, consisting of four rustic timber cabins set in a bush setting in beautiful Byfield. The cabins are self-contained and are spacious and open plan. As the cabins have a high tin roof and no lined ceiling they are not suitable for air conditioning. The large screened shuttered windows allow for the flow of the bush breezes. We do not accept children or pets. Each cabin only accommodates a maximum of one couple or a single person. As we are a private couples retreat we do not allow Guests visitors. Waterpark Creek runs along the eastern boundary of the property and guests have the use of kayaks and necessary equipment to enjoy a paddle on the creek. It is a 15 minute walk along bush track to the creek. Other activities include push bikes, bush walking, and a plunge pool for the warmer months....
